Love is a many splendored thing

Enjoying my new life with my new love Julie. She is a wonderful gift, we grow together each day and night.

Today I learn: To care, to acknowledge, to share, to accept, to be comfortable in my own skin, to understand, to be ok to be happy.

You know the hardest thing sometimes is to just accept that happiness is ok. I don't have to feel guilty for feeling happy so long.

Learning to ride the wave, the dips and crests, its all good. To have pursued happiness so… Continue

Thom Hartmann: Day in the Life of Joe Middle-Class Republican

One of my favorites from Thom Hartman. His recital of John Gray's Day in the Life of Joe Middle-Class Republican:

"A Day in the Life of Joe Middle-Class Republican"

Joe gets up at 6:00am to prepare his morning coffee. He fills his pot full of good clean drinking water because some liberal fought for minimum water quality standards. He takes his daily medication with his first swallow of coffee. His medications are safe to take because some liberal fought to insure their… Continue

I am boring

Nothing earth-shattering to say, but I suppose I could ramble. It's been a trying week. Finding out that my second rental townhouse was in foreclosure on the 3rd anniversary of my Second Late husband's death (May 6) was very shocking. The landlord was over 6 months behind. The sheriff's sale was June 24. That means out by Dec 24. Got an email today that I owe a $387 waterbill. WHAT??? water/sewer/garbage are supposed to be included in the rent. talked to the City Hall, the bill is in HIS name.… Continue

Red Lights . . .

and Cowboys

An urban cowboy circles

looks like someone stole his cue,

now he's lookin' kinda lost.

I'm sure he knows just Who

but not quite What to do -

he hasn't got a clue.

So much for tough guy eyes.

Then his girlfriend points away

behind me to the left -

body on the pavement

red lights at the curb

and they both go to gawk.

The body lays right there

near where Laura once was… Continue

Elvis is STILL dead.

But I may be able to get him rotating in his grave like a wind turbine, if this post generates half the attention that I think it could,,,

What did that guy mean to you, anyway? I see him mainly as the perfect encapsulation of what's wrong with the American Dream: That the American Dream is NOT set up for the well-being of the American citizenry themselves, but solely for the financial gain of a select few. No matter how revolutionary your idea, no matter how enlightening or… Continue

What is wrong with people in this country? How can people stand up in public and say some of the ridiculous things that they are saying about Obama and his health care plan? I saw a woman on TV today hold up a picture of Obama fixed up to look like Hitler and she said, with a perfectly straight face, that his health plan included a provision where the government would have "death panels" that would decide who lived and who died! That they would decide that certain people were too old or too… Continue

"Swine Flu is NOT the Problem -- It is the Vaccine that May Harm or Kill You," says Dr Mercola

You’ve probably noticed the escalating hype and hysteria surrounding the swine flu pandemic as colder months approach and the number of worldwide cases climbs. It’s true the virus is spreading.

Much more important, however, is the fact that reported cases continue to be symptomatically mild, requiring little or no medical intervention. And deaths from the H1N1 virus remain extremely low, at less than one half of one percent of… Continue

The News

We all know the media has a flair creating panic, terror, fear and chaos. Yet there are many newsworthy stories that go underreported. Here's a list of Time's top 10 for 2007:

Obama Has Saved America!

Thank God! Oops, I mean, thank Obama. The economic crisis is almost over, the 'war on terror' is a thing of the past and, by his own words, Obama and his administration have saved America from catastrophe.

President Obama used the occasion of a 1/10 of 1% drop in the nation's unemployment rate to claim both success and validation for his economic policies. He has valiantly brought America back from the brink of the economic chaos that was caused by his predecessor. But as is often… Continue

Do you like dogs?

Do you like dogs?

Hey everyone. I like dogs. Do you like dogs? Some of you like dogs, I’m sure. You know what I like about dogs?

They aren’t people.

Ha-ha! EeYeah! That’s why I like dogs. Yeah-ya. Well, they are manipulative, of course. Sure they are. But if you pay attention, their machinations - ha-ha! EeYeah; a dog’s machinations center around three things - feed me, pet me, and take me for a walk. And they never say anything unless they bark, and that’s… Continue

Vaccine Manufacturers "Immune" From Lawsuits

Does this statement sound right to you?

“Vaccine makers and federal officials will be immune from lawsuits that result from any new swine flu vaccine, under a document signed by Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius,” reported the Associated Press last month.

How does this statement make you feel?

I find it unsettling. If I subscribed to a vaccine mindset, I'd feel like a human guinea pig, meaning I would feel as though my is health and well… Continue

Haiku - 2

The rooster crows twice
Fingers of light touch the house,
Painting the walls white.

Going the Distance

10,000 steps is where I began and little thoughts eased their way into my mind.

Common threads:

Life

Work

Tread Mill

Seeming endless cycle, but does come to an end:

Birth and Death

Hire and Retirement

Beginning to the End

Like a hamster running on his exercise wheel.

Round and round she goes---Where she stops, know one knows

5,000 steps—Half way there and the tally for the journey reads something like… Continue

The Swimming Pool Theory of Life

Someone dear to me mentioned my Friends Theory that I have posted on my profile. Another way I live I call the Swimming Pool Theory of Life.

When I was about five, a couple my parents knew bought land to build a house. A huge lot, because they knew they wanted a nice swimming pool. The Mrs insisted that they build the pool and the bath house first. She knew that if they built the house first, they might never get around to building the swimming pool OR the nice bath house she wanted,… Continue

I Read The Bill

by Tom Wacaster

I have listened with great interest and concern to the “pros” and “cons” of the impending health bill that has been drawn up by the House of Representatives. Few, if any, of our representatives have actually read the bill in its entirety. In contrast a growing number of concerned… Continue
