One Reader's Suggestions to Fix America

There recently was an article in the St. Petersburg Fl. Times. The Business Section asked readers for ideas on: "How Would You Fix the Economy?"

Dear Mr. President,

Please find below my suggestion for fixing America 's economy. Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan. You can call it the "Patriotic Retirement Plan":

There are about 40 million people over 50 in… Continue

December 31, 2009

A few intrepid seagulls are rowing against the wind momentarily before turning back to take advantage of its velocity that keeps the open waters of the Mississippi River channel in constant motion. One of the constant metal snakes has slowly wound its way around me at least 270 degrees and disappeared beyond my line of sight. Snow still blankets the ground, although the sun is shining in a mostly clear sky and in doing so, highlights the branches of four stoic sycamore trees standing watch over… Continue

Winter Morning

Oh winter morning
Rise from sight
Oppose the suns’
Reflective light
Tis’ grey you blossom
And flower the day
With misty shards
Of earth’s decay
That stab and grind
At foot and fall
Then blow a kiss
To us and all
Rise from sight
Oh winter morning
Bring forth the light
Of mornings' glory
Lest we worry
The day
Away

Conservative thoughts on Health Care and. . . . . .

The more we continue to expose the "transforming America" plans of this administration, the more people are waking up to the fact that there is a real threat to our way of life. I love the mindless drivel that the opposition spews at us, more empty rhetoric, blind devotion to programs that will not only bankrupt our country, but will turn the country into a banana republic.

If Obama believes in the ideals , values and principles of our founding fathers, what is the purpose of appointing 35… Continue

The Insidious Interaction of "Harmless" Thinking

Brace yourselves! This is going to be a wild ride. I am preparing to lay out a strategy, that has led America to the brink of destruction. To select a starting point is not difficult - the doctrine of "Political Correctness" - the remedy is to completely repudiate the entire notion of "Political Correctness" for the Communist Plot that it most assuredly is!

Political Correctness can be traced to 1920's Germany, where it first appeared as a means of forcing Marxist theory and the imposition… Continue

ON THE ROAD AGAIN 20

Last post was last Wed. the 30th of Dec, 2009. We are now in the second decade of 21st century. "Times fun when you're having flies" I stole that from Prunella, who stole it from Kermit.

Anyway, Here I am back at Patrick Air Force Base, or AFB. I came South to get away from the cold. Ha! It isn't as cold as VA, but it isn't as warm as Florida either. Happy's hair is growing quickly.

The site of the last Blog was; "South Of The Border" Motel and tacky tourist shops. It has… Continue

Ben Stein's Confession

The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday Morning Commentary --

My confession:

I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees, Christmas trees. I don't feel threatened. I don't feel discriminated against. That's what they are, Christmas trees.

It doesn't bother me a bit when people… Continue

If it were you

If it were you I love

I would say it every day

And I would be honest with my feelings

About what love means to me

And how I celebrate its’ coming

If it were you I love;

And if it were you

I would show you why

And I would tell a story

Of stirring implications

About the hours in days satisfied

If it were you I love;

From the first words

And minutes in time

Of which time stopped

And started again

And whispered the… Continue

Dearest Troy

Dear Troy,

Thank you for your kind reply. Not only kind but with wisdom that I can discern and absorb as well. Faith is the best friend I have held since the age of eight years, faith is what carries me when I feel I can no long walk and faith is the essence of every breath that I draw that keeps me here.

I understand faith of all kinds, especially blind faith and it was and is in this faith that "I" have lived this life. I live by the faith that all people all life is of but… Continue
