Conservative thoughts on Health Care and. . . . . .
The more we continue to expose the "transforming America" plans of this administration, the more people are waking up to the fact that there is a real threat to our way of life. I love the mindless drivel that the opposition spews at us, more empty rhetoric, blind devotion to programs that will not only bankrupt our country, but will turn the country into a banana republic.
If Obama believes in the ideals , values and principles of our founding fathers, what is the purpose of appointing 35 "CZARS" answerable only to his office or to his appointed advisors, circumventing the Cabinet administrations' lawfully commissioned with Congressional approval and authority? There already is a bureaucratic structure, these "CZARS" operate outside the control, oversight and scrutiny of either the Congress or the People! Not to mention the payroll! Most salaries are over $150,000 per year, and there are 35 of them. Also, the "CZARS" have staff members - more payroll. Stimulus creating jobs? YES, but only to further Obama's vision of the "Transformation" of America.
Let's review some recent developments:
Obama approves a LOAN of $2 Billion to Brazil (Petrobas - National Oil Company - Soros owns a large stake) for OFFSHORE DRILLING! What about HERE?????
Mark LLloyd (the new FCC "Diversity CZAR") Publicly praises Chavez for his seizure and state control of the Media (for State- controlled media - PROPAGANDA) and proposes 100%tax on Talk Radio profit to further subsidize NPR and other "Localism" based stations
Van Jones - radical, Communist, environmental terrorist. hate-spewing racist exposed, no comment from Obama, no repudiation of his outlandish claims of "White polluters poisoning black communities" white agriculturists spraying toxins on immigrant laborers in a broken system - we need a whole new system) and he wonders why the American people are concerned about this?
Cass Sunstein - proposed Regulatory CZAR - wants ANIMALS to have lawyers and be able to sue humans??? What planet is he from???
John Holdren - advocates putting "sterilants" into the drinking water for population control???? Also advocates mandated abortion and Eugenics as means of population control, and "Seeding" the atmosphere with "reflective particles" to block sunshine from "overheating" the earth, and of course, the Carbon Cap and Trade. "Junk Science" at it's absolute best!
So all you Progressive apologists, let's hear it for your boy!
All the information is readily available - but the MSM won't put it out for public consumption - it doesn't fit their message. I am old enough to remember when we had a RESPONSIBLE press and national Media, when the TRUTH was the guiding ideal, sources were checked, double checked, facts were completely examined prior to publication, and the end result was something that the public could rely upon in order to make a decision. The change occurred when News became "Entertainment", and the sound bite replaced journalism. Ratings were king! It was all about revenues, getting the biggest exposure for the sponsors. In the age of the Internet, alternative sources have developed, a great many of which are far more reliable than the MainStream Media, not hopelessly in the tank for the Progessive/Liberal agenda to further their own cause, nothing more!
The grassroots movement occurred naturally, as it always has in America, because, despite the past thirty years of interfering with our educational system, there are still enough of us who understand the history of our country and the foundations upon which our country was established, and the values and principles we still hold near and dear!
"Flyover" country inhabitants are the backbone of the country - the elitist "Coasts" are too self-absorbed to understand what is happening, mainly because they only talk to each other, the same as the MainStreamMedia "talking heads" -they never get to hear opposing views, so they incorrectly assume "everyone" or at least the "Majority" of America agrees with them - NOT SO!!!
We are coming, our numbers are growing, and we have the passion and resolve to see this through - you see, we are not showing up because we have been PAID to be there, unlike the Counter-protesters with their commercially printed signs blazoning half truths and incorrect statistics as though they are correct. Not to mention, we are NON-PARTISAN, and that scares the hell out of the establishment - it isn't just the "disillusioned right protesting the lost election" as we have been portrayed - it is a REAL coalition of AMERICANS - no other labels, just AMERICANS.
OK here's one for you to ponder - what happens when all the wealth has been "redistributed"? What will you Progressives use to replenish it? Will you just print money until it costs $100,000 for a loaf of bread, as in the Weimar republic (people took their Marks in Wheelbarrows to the market to buy food)
or will you continue to try to borrow from Communist countries until they finally call the debt, and we become their subjects?
You see, Utopia is a vision, it has never been achieved, and the proponents always share the idea that "THIS TIME" will be different, but there are simple rules that determine what happens. There is no such thing as a "Perfect" world. and the denial is what eventually brings about their downfall and economic collapse -it is called "Human Nature". Inherent in human nature is the desire for FREEDOM, it cannot be destroyed, it cannot be eliminated from the psyche, it will always be,
So have you thought of an answer to my question - How will you replenish the "re-distributed" wealth once it runs out? Taxing only the rich eventually dries up - the rich can move their assets into other forms, protecting them from confiscation until a new regime takes over, and freedom is once again restored. If you think this is fantasy, let me tell you about the people of Georgia - many families realized that Stalin and his henchmen were going to confiscate their wealth, so they literally buried hard assets gold, silver, jewels, etc, and left instructions on how to find them once the Communists were gone from power, and then they recovered them, once it was safe. Extreme? Fantasy? Ask yourself honestly to answer that one. As I asked, from what source will the "redistributed wealth" be replenished?
If we look at the prohibition against selling insurance across state lines, for example, the answer is too much government intervention already! IF the government got the hell out of the way, these prohibitions would not exist, it is all due to the various regulations mandating what must be covered in each state, and how each provision must be worded, and what provisions must include mandated testing, diagnostic or otherwise, and what precautions the providers must take for their own protection.
Have you noticed NONE of the proposals include one mention of tort reform? The mindless idiots argue that that is but a small part of the problem - REALLY????? It isn't just the jury awards, but the increased costs connected with unnecessary testing, unnecessary precautions, mandated (by bureaucrats, not physicians) policies, union-mandated personnel functions, division of labor, and any number of additional cost factors all contributing to the makeup of potential lawsuits, along with the practice of suing EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN in order to find the one with the deepest pockets.
Healthcare has been far too heavily influenced by governmental interference into its operation as an industry, usually fueled by "well intentioned" liberals who never consider the consequences of their idiotic Social Justice solutions, especially where the cost increases could ever possibly be funded, just like they are doing now with this bill - no one wants to actually discuss the costs, or how it will be paid for- it certainly could not, under anyone's wildest dreams, come from "savings". Just name ONE government program where costs have gone DOWN!!!!!!
So, if we examine the causality - it comes from government intervention into the free market system. Medicare and Medicaid are rampant with fraud, which drives up the cost of everything else, the coverage for illegal immigrants, and even the granting of SSI and disability to those who are here illegally, not to mention the mandated "EMERGENCY Care" ( want an outrageous example - homeless people call for an AMBULANCE to transport them to the hospital for treatment when they are too drunk to walk, or it is too cold outside, or for many other non-emergency situations, and guess who pays the tab??? You're right - it usually is NEVER covered by anyone, the government is simply overwhelmed, and it falls under something called "uncompensated care")
Yes, by all means, let's just turn the entire Health Care system over to the government I'm sure it will get so much better once it's under governmental control!
The Progressive position is based (allegedly) on COMPASSION! Unrealistic - there is real money involved, and there is a finite amount available! just as there are finite resources available in terms of medical providers - Doctors, Nurses, PA.s LPN's etc, not to mention techs, aides, etc and the influx of clericals for intake,data entry, etc. Universal coverage will tax the system far beyond the breaking point, resulting in MASSIVE rationing - it will be inevitable, and it is really just plain common sense - look at the numbers, and we already have shortages in personnel!

bill, my friend --
your points are valid, and many citizens have lost jobs, homes, and sleep over what will become of their future. it's overwhelming. some say just pull the plug now and declare a 'do-over' (---ahhh...to be in 5th grade again!) but our current reality is far beyond what anyone can comprehend and make sense of to create an environment that works for everyone.
what is most surprising to me is that the readership of an over-40 social networking site wouldn't see that socialist health care doesn't cater to those over 40. why would they want something to pay that won't serve them? the mind reels.
to your other point, people weren't put on this earth to govern each other in the first place. power and control evolved with ego. there are 10 commandments which make a lot of sense and create structure and order, regardless of religious beliefs --- they're actually a moral code of ethics. i believe in God. if you don't, it's important to believe in something greater than yourself. many versions are available for your edification, but here's one from exodus:
