TBD

TBD on Ning

Kat, or maybe it was akabukowski, once said to me that everyone thinks their life would make a good book.

She is probably right. What do you think?

Here is your chance.

Let's all tell stories from our experiences as we traveled through time.

Ahh, but there has to be rules. They will be pretty loose, but rules there must be.

RULES:

1. It can be any experience that you want to tell us about.

2. It can be as short as one line. Or as long as fifty. Anything over thirty will be deleted.

3.You do not have to end the story at fiftyy lines, but you have to quit writing at the end of fiftyy lines. You can not post again until at least one other person  has posted something.

This ensures that everyone gets a chance.

4.You can continue on the same subject or jump to a new one.

5. Nothing is required to be in chronological order.

6. Very Graphic Sexual discriptions should be posted in the sex talk group. You can direct us to go there if we want to read about it.

7. No one will be checking the facts

8. Additional rules will be posted and implemented as I see fit.

Step right up and post. who knows, the next knock on your door may be Spielberg asking for the movie rights.

Well done.  So very true.  Thank you.
Yep, It's about life.
Like!

Such a great thread! Thanks Robbie!
I've considered posting here since I first saw it. Today I'm feeling somber enough to do so. The somber feeling comes from the meet being over after all the anticipation and then the great time we had this past weekend.
My mom died Feb 7, 1957. I was 9. While she was in the hospital battling breast cancer, I stayed with an aunt and uncle who lived close enough to my school that I could walk. I'm sure I was in denial during her illness, thinking that she'd be well and home soon. One night my grandparents stopped by my anut and uncle's to pick me up. Grandma and my aunt and uncle were crying and grandma hugged me and wouldn't let go. Couldn't imagine what was wrong and I didn't ask. They took me to my house, we had to park a block away because of all the cars parked near my house. Our house was filled with aunts and uncles, no cousins to play with. All the adults were crying, definitely not a happy atmosphere. Apparently, child psychology hadn't been invented yet. Obviously, nobody had a clue as to how to tell a kid his mom died. Finally, sitting on an aunt's lap (mom's sister), I asked when mom was coming home, I got the news and my life would never be the same.
On a sad note, lol, my sister was turning 5 on Feb 9, 2 days later. The funeral home was directly across the street from our house, nice and convenient. My sister only told me this recently. Dozens of us were walking across the street to the funeral, one of our older cousins was holding my sister's hand. Sis thought we were going to her birthday party.

Dad wanted to put us in an orphanage, thank God my aunt (his only sister) and my grandma talked him out of it. I certainly can understand his thinking, he was absolutely devastated, he was never a strong man to begin with. Sis and I lucked out big time. Less than a year later he knocked up a wonderful woman who would give me my brother and be our stepmom until she passed in Feb of 06.

I haven't been to this thread in several weeks. Now I have to go back over it in the next several days and catch up.

Thanks again Robbie!

I can't imagine what that had to be like Larry.

Thanks for the thanks, Larry.

We have all had our unique experiences in life.  Many good times and bad times. Funny thing is, the bad seem to be etched in our memory deeper than the good ones. Most of us don't talk much about those. It seems easier to write about them than talk about them. I think we all feel better after recording those experiences.

However, I also like to tell about the good times and will do more of that as this thread goes along.

I don't think anyone who has lived over 40 years has had an entirely dull life. How could you?

I have a lot more stories. The flight to the Pittsburgh meet is just an example. Just the fact that we have met through the internet and travel long distances to see people that we have never before met,  is a story.  Just think, Twenty years ago that could have never happened.

Anyone reading this who has never posted to it; what are you waiting for?
