Purple

I am purple!

I'm not violet...I'm not lavender...I'm PURPLE!

I love to say the word purple...because it is me.

I'm deep as…

Returning to your roots

Otto Klemperer (14 May 1885 – 6 July 1973) was a German conductor and composer. He is widely regarded as one of the leading conductors of the 20th century.  In 1933, once the Nazi party had reached power, Klemperer, who was Jewish,  left Germany and moved to the United States. Klemperer had previously  converted to Catholicism, but returned to Judaism at the end of his  life.  One of his last concert tours was to Jerusalem. Klemperer had performed  in Palestine before the state of Israel… Continue

Upon the Question of Default of Our National Debt

July 6, 2011

The United States government, today, stands mired in political theater and brinkmanship, and as it does so the nation’s economy hangs in the balance, wavering before the precipice of default upon our national debt. Whatever the outcome of this current debate, one thing must be abundantly clear, and that is that no one can, with reason and good faith, cast aspersions upon the President in this…

"Thoughts" On Life...not DEEP thoughts, mind you...

By the time you get to the end of this, you should have a grin on your face.  If not, I suggest with all haste that you get your sorry ass to a store and buy a decent sense of humor.

My inner idiot loves this stuff...just think about it...

  1. More often than not, when someone is telling me a story…

ALONE AGAINST THE STORM...I think not.

I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow. I've learned that you can

tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three

things:a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.

I've…

ALL IS WELL.

What is Death?

Death

is nothing at all.

I have only slipped away into the next room.

I am I and you are you.

Whatever we were to each other,

that we still are.…

Fathers Day 2011

My dad died in 2002, and I don't have any kids, so Fathers Day, other than as a time for some introspection, has diminished in value for me over the years.

Today, however, my mother, one of my brothers, and I had a unique experience....we had brunch with my nephew and his wife and their four month old daughter.  The nephew and family live in the Chicago area, and were passing through our neck of the woods on their way home.  We met up in the city to the south of us.

This was…

"It will be your undoing."

The man looked into the mirror and saw staring back at him a handsome, youthful gentleman with flowing black hair, flawless skin, broad shoulders, and washboard abs. This was notable, especially in light of the fact that the man was way past his prime, graying and balding, with liver spots, toothpick arms and legs and a belly that almost reached his knees. Still, his image of himself continued to favorably embellish what his eyes saw in the mirror, and he smiled…

Life - A Gift

The Gift of Life

Whatever is in our life now is unfolding in a perfect loving way. There is a cosmic plan for each and everyone of us, a perfect design of the Cosmic Mind.

Whatever the reason that there are things in our life that are unpleasant one day the God in us shall reveal in to us and we can look back and see how… Continue

MORNING PRAYER

In the morning, everything is new.

The day's blank slate lies before me,

ready for my writing.

May it be words of beauty I write.

May it be deeds of grace I do.

May it be thoughts of joy I think.

All the Holy Ones, Listen;

this is what I pray.

Great Spirits of the Four Realms,

Holy…

JOY IS EVERYWHERE

And Joy is Everywhere;

It is in the Earth's green covering of grass;

In the blue serenity of the Sky;

In the reckless exuberance of Spring;

In the severe abstinence of gray Winter;

In the Living flesh that animates our bodily frame;

In the perfect poise of the Human figure, noble and upright;

In Living;

In the…

On Knowing............The Missing Piece

Maybe there is another world out there running right along side this one.

And maybe you and I have been there for a long time......holding hands, walking together, sleeping together, touching,sharing laughter and tears, telling stories, all the while here in this world we lived apart unaware of that…

A Long-Lived Pianist

Mieczysław Horszowski (June 23, 1892 – May 22, 1993) was a Polish-American pianist who had the longest known career in the history of the performing arts.

Born a Jew, Horszowski converted to Catholicism.  One critic wrote: "Horszowski was both very Jewish and very Catholic, in both cases as only a Pole could have been."

In this video Horszowski performs Robert Schumann's Papillons, op. 2, in Paris in 1989, at the age of 97.  He died… Continue

Calmness....feeling one with all things, a unity of each part to the whole

This is the peaceful safe place I go to get away from chaos and cluttering thoughts

I have a perfect picture in my mind of the beauty that surrounds me in this place

I am safe here and at peace absorbing the energy of life and sounds around me

I am the light dancing through the water

I am the bird singing in the tree, I am a stone in the brook

I am the water overflowing, I am anything I want to be here, I am free and I am the… Continue

My Hands

I looked at my hands today; looked at the backs where used to be tight, smooth skin browned by the sun and wind. Now I see scars of incidents and indescretions hiding amidst wrinkles and loose skin, and where there was once subtle lines of blue veins, the veins now seem to be larger making rather ugly road maps on the backs of my hands. The one ring I wear seems considerably looser than just a few years…
