Walking The Barrier, Grand Isle

At bottom every man knows well enough that he is a unique being, only once on this earth; and by no extraordinary chance will such a
marvelously picturesque piece of diversity in unity as he is, ever be
put together a second time.  ~Friedrich Nietzsche

Yes, Grand Isle, I've been there a few times and one of the shots you did looks like it was from a walk through the woods behind North Beach.

This photo reminds me of a major turning point in my life. I sat alone on an outcropping much like in the photo watching the ebb and flow of the tides and gazing at the crescent moon in the distance. The timelessness of the moment gave me an enormous sense of peace, a respite from the unrest I had been experiencing in my previous job. In that peace I had an epiphany or rather my inner voice telling me to continue on my path because all will be well on the next part of my journey. Montego Bay will always have a special place in my memories. It is the one place I felt divine guidance at its most powerful. I followed the  calling and had the opportunity to touch many of my students' lives in very meaningful ways even more now than ever before. Perhaps it is not coincidental that the next school I taught at had a large population of Jamaicans. For me, God works in mysterious ways.

We might be unique but insignificant in the scope of the cosmos, but man has the ability and the opportunities to do extraordinary things for his planet and fellow human beings which is what should matter most.
