Has anyone seen my thoughts? I lost them.

If you find them, please do not give them all back to me. If you can figure out which ones I need and which ones I don't, I would appreciate you only giving me back the ones I need.....These words are not my thoughts, they are only a front.........Thanks....K..

Principles for Living

Principles for Living a Disciplined Life

from Pastor John MacArthur

1. Begin with Small Things ~ it’s the little things that make for the big successes. They may not be important in themselves, but Jesus said, “He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much” (Luke 16:10).

2. Clean Your Environment—start with your… Continue

Gandhi assassinated

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, the political and spiritual leader of the Indian independence movement, is assassinated in New Delhi by a Hindu fanatic.

Born the son of an Indian official in 1869, Gandhi's Vaishnava mother was deeply religious and early on exposed her son to Jainism, a morally rigorous Indian religion that advocated nonviolence. Gandhi was an unremarkable student but in 1888 was given an opportunity to study law in England.… Continue

CAN YOU KEEP UP?

This is a site for the over 40 crowd. That also includes the, over 50, over 60, 0ver 70, and over 80 crowds. Although the last two groups probably wouldn't fit the definition of crowd.

The march of technology is speeding up. I think that is a true statement. I'm sure there are stats on that. But if I have any hope of keeping up I don't have time to look them up.

Maricel Evasco says that if we develope the proper skill set we shouldn't have any trouble keeping up.

I was born near… Continue

A response to “Michelle’s 46th Birthday Organic Lamb and Lobster Bash.”

On January 18 of this year, my friend OCNaturalDoc posted a blog entitled “Michelle’s 46th Birthday Organic Lamb and Lobster Bash.” In it she says, “…something isn't right when someone who promised so much to so many, and has since spent so much on himself and his family, and is preparing to sell so many of us down the river with socialized health care and the extinction of caring for our country's aging population.” She also reports that “The president rented a private room (of… Continue

MusicianSomething to think about….

Washington, DC Metro Station on a cold January morning in 2007. The man with a violin played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time approximately. 2 thousand people went through the station, most of them on their way to work. After 3 minutes a middle aged man noticed there was a musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds and then… Continue

Fiesta de la Calle San Sebastian

My very first trip with hubby to Puerto Rico coincided with the Fiesta De la Calle San Sabastian- 2 more days of festivities and music. It was a wonderful Sunday to spend the entire day just enjoying the sights, activities and music! We headed into the first crowded local diner and I ordered bifsteak lomillo with monfongo. (steak with onions and mashed plaintains) Delicious! It was one of the best we had because the next few days, we ordered monfongo from the other restaurants and compared it… Continue

untapped natural resources of underdeveloped countries ought to be tapped

The wealth of a nation

is in the wellbeing of its people,

both spiritually and materialistically.

It's not a question of lowering our standards

but of helping others to raise theirs.

If all people everywhere could be content

and their living standards even

and compatible with ours,

there would be no envy in the world

and, therefore, less provocation of war.

When you encourage and help people

to develop their own natural resources,

you… Continue

Together (A Song for Haiti) by high school students

This song made me tearful. It is usually during the aftermath of a great tragedy, that we can experience an outpouring of love which characterizes the best facet of our humanity- Oneness. I remember attending the vigil near the Gramercy Park area(located less than a couple of miles from ground zero) a few days after 9/11. I've never experienced such a overwhelming feeling of unity and love for the grief of others and for the loss of loved ones. My brother lost… Continue

I was in the Mayor’s Office Yesterday . . .

Yeah-ya, I was. Can you imagine? I’m not a resident of Burlington, but I was in town having coffee, enjoying the sunshine, you know, and it was a bit chilly out, not much was happening and that gave me time to consider carefully a movement underway in the State Legislature. It seems the former president of Middlebury College wants to change the drinking age in the state from 21 to 18. I don’t like…
