Computer problems?

For the last few days, I've noticed that my laptop 'freezes' at times. At first, I thought it was the 'game' I was playing, but then it happened when I was playing Solitaire--the one that comes with all Windows computers. It was happening frequently, which worried me. So, since it's been 18 months since I did a Reset on this 6-year-old laptop, I thought maybe that's what it needed. Cleaning out things--and a suprise find.

A few days ago, I decided to clear out my huge graphics folder. When I had pages at another site, I used a lot of graphics. I had 'theme pages': everything from my favorite tv shows to my favorite colors, etc. My Graphics folder, even after a bit of weeding, was still 20.2 GB. Within two days, that 'huge' folder was down to 9GB! And there's still almost 50 folders to go through. I'm sure most of those are Duplicates, so...I don't expect to keep many from those folders.
