It's always something with computers, lol.
My daughter gives me her old laptop computers when she doesn't need them. Which is good--I get something 'new to me' without buying it. I bought my 17 in. HP laptop in 2019. I think it was 2021 when my daughter gave me this 15 in. laptop. Both were built in 2019 & have been working fine, with needing a few 'resets' over the years. Winter!
December was warm--but Jan. hit with a vengeance! We had about 11 inches of snow & then temps down to zero and below this past week. With a neighbor's help, my husband (after 3-4 days) got our car cleared off & the driveway halfway cleaned off as well. But since we had already done our monthly stock-up--and before it hit, my husband also found some small bundles of wood in case we need the fireplace--I don't plan on going out at all till it's warmer! Writing and 'AI'
I often get the 'option' to use AI to 'improve' things that I write; I do not like that. But I did try it once, and it was only a couple of words that were different. So I was happy to learn that I'm doing all right.Anyway, I also read a lot of books. Recently, I've seen so many by someone with a certain name. Weeding out at this stage of life
I'm a collector. Over the years, I've collected many things: books, stuffed animals (mainly the tiny Beany baby cats), key chains, refrigerator magnets, paper bookmarks, DVDs of my favorite TV shows and movies (started as VHS tapes, then converted to DVD), CDs of all my favorite music (a total of 13 now), post cards from all over the world (courtesy of many pen pals), pictures of those pen pals and their families, all the stories I've ever written (close to a dozen short stories & maybe 8…See More

Christmas Decorations
I think it's too early, but the young guy across the street has already put up a HUGE amount of Christmas lights! My gosh, so many lights!! He usually puts out some inflatable things so we have that to look forward to. I can't wait!! The next time he turns on the lights to check them, I'll try to take a picture. Dusting and watching old DVDs
I started my binge of Stargate:SG1 yesterday; first the 'good' device wouldn't accept 1 dvd, so I switched to the older Player. Guess what: first disk was great, 2nd was 'glitchy'. So that went into the trash. There were 214 episodes over the 10 yrs of the Stargate series, so even though I didn't keep 'all', just the ones I have is a big stack!! Library and Reading
I don't go to the library now. It's difficult for me to get out. But thankfully, our library system uses an app for eLibrary (digital). So when it was time for my card to be renewed, I thought I might have to drop it. Keyboards
I've been using Laptops for a long time now. And every single one gives me the same problem: when I try to type, the cursor will 'jump' backward & end in the middle of a previous word! Which is a royal pain!! So, even with a laptop, I've always used an external keyboard. I have no idea why this happens, but it's so very annoying. My DVD Collection
Right now, everything on TV is either reruns or ‘reality’, which I don’t like at all. So I decided to find something else to watch. That should be easy, since I have a huge library of tv shows and movies on DVD. I started out using VHS, then I copied my favorites onto DVDs. I read such an eclectic variety of books. I remember long before kindle, that I got readers digest condensed books. I liked some of the books but was not a big fan of others, but I had nothing else to read. I remember reading Dick Francis and his stories of the horse racing world and being amazed I actually enjoyed them. I would have never picked them for myself. I also read almost a whole wall of books at the library that was near us when I lived in San Diego. I feel so spoiled now. If I am not enjoying a book I simply don't read it. Never had that kind of freedom before. I am horrible at remembering titles and authors. I am often reading 3 books at a time. Did you read Where the crawdads sing? Unbroken? I will try to remember names for you. My husband reads an enitrely different genre. He is into SciFi, and gore. He enjoys Stephen King and Dean Koontz. I was reading a series I enjoyed about a magical castle that took a young woman and a man that worked around the castle back in time, but alas, they then wanted to start charging me for books. Like you I get most of my books free. I do enjoy the kindle because it holds so many but also because it is a computer and you can look up the interesting facts in the book. The first time I really researched and read a book was The Art of Jewish Woman and again I was kind of amazed because I don't really care for modern art. Keep enjoying those booksd
