How I fit background on my page

I am now using a 23 inch monitor. What I do: I set my desktop wallpaper, then take a Screenshot of it. I save that & upload it to my online storage place. Then, I use the 'direct link' and put…Continue

My music

Well, I started playing my CD's & then learned it's NOT just 1 CD that has the sound 'dropping out  for a few seconds'. It's the player itself!  So I'm trying to figure out how to 'hear' YT music…Continue

My Writing

I've been writing since I was a teenager in high school. It's just "me", who I am. After high school, I started at the local junior college, and if I hadn't dropped out after getting married, I would have been an English Major.  By then, I knew what I wanted to do with my life: have a family and keep writing.   I would normally write 20 pages per day after I was married--being a stay-at-home mom. I had put it aside when I had my first baby. Then I realized he slept a lot, leaving me plenty of…See More

I love Chocolate

I've always loved chocolate. My favorite candy bars are: Milky Way, Hershey's plain or almond, and Nestle's Crunch. I guess it was maybe a year or two ago that I discovered Nutella. Basically, it's a Hazelnut & cocoa spread.   I recently stocked up on Nutella  (2 large jars) and a couple of boxes of graham crackers. I limit myself to either half a graham cracker or another 'extra' 1/4--3 pieces, in other words. I put about a teaspoon of Nutella on one of those pieces. So yummy! It's just…See More

I love taking pictures

I love taking pictures. I guess it started when I was a child, even though I didn’t actually do it until much later.    My first camera was a Brownie box. My grandma gave it to me. I was very young & don’t remember if I ever actually took any picures with it. I probably just ‘pretended’ to take pictures.    The first real camera I remember was given to me by my dad. It was a ‘slide action’ camera. I remember it was foreign--maybe Minolta--but that’s about all I remember. Yes, I took some…See More

Genealogy

I'm not one of those people who go 'hog wild' about finding my ancestors. I can't/won't pay for that. However, some years ago, I found a 'free' site where I could look for ancestors. I can't remember where or how I actually did it. But I do remember: I put in the name of a person (grandfather maybe) and then looked for 'his grandfather'--and so on. I found relatives back to the 1200's!  It turns out my ancestors came from England, Ireland, Scotland, the Netherlands, and Germany.  I learned that…See More

I am a music lover

I am a music lover. However, I don't often 'listen' lately. I have 12 CD's full of my favorites--my own 'mix', plus at least a dozen 'bought' albums. And I have many music videos saved on my computer. In the past, I have shown many of them on one of my pages--using the YouTube codes.  This morning I woke up after having a dream of sitting in the middle of large stacks of vinyl albums! That's what made me think of this blog.  In the dream, I was trying to categorize my albums: those saved from…See More

I read such an eclectic variety of books.  I remember long before kindle, that I got readers digest condensed books.  I liked some of the books but was not a big fan of others, but I had nothing else to read.  I remember reading Dick Francis and his stories of the  horse racing world and being amazed I actually enjoyed them.  I would have never picked them for myself.  I also read almost a whole wall of books at the library that was near us when I lived in San Diego.  I feel so spoiled now.  If I am not enjoying a book I simply don't read it.  Never had that kind of freedom before.    I am horrible at remembering titles and authors. I am often reading 3 books at a time.  Did you read Where the crawdads sing?  Unbroken?  I will try to remember names for you.  My husband reads an enitrely different genre.  He is into SciFi, and gore.  He enjoys Stephen King and Dean Koontz.  I was reading a series I enjoyed about a magical castle that took a young woman and a man that worked around the castle back in time, but alas, they then wanted to start charging me for books.  Like you I get most of my books free.  I do enjoy the kindle because it holds so many but also because it is a computer and you can look up the interesting facts in the book.  The first time I really researched and read a book was The Art of  Jewish Woman and again I was kind of amazed because I don't really care for modern art.  Keep enjoying those booksd
