Yesterday melts into a fine tomorrow
gone is the candle flickering in the wind.
Now at pinnacle of another wedding
yesteryears tears are chased away.
Beaming at your royal groom,
we share your…

Easter
an opportunity to experience joy and hope
and cast away the burdens of painful reality
an opportunity to release anger and stress
and rejoice in forgiveness of others and self
an opportunity to find hope to shine light
through the darkness of discouragement and despair
an opportunity to…

I think I may have to leave TBD altogeter...Too much sadness. I think if there are people trying to throw a wedge into TBD they have done a good job.... I should have stayed out of the whole damn mess because I tend to want to stick up for everyone.......Sticking up for everyone.. alienates everyone...LOL.....Then you are left with no-one.
I am first going to give my friends time to say goodby so I will stay a week.
In the meantime I will be staying out of anything that gets…

I lifted that title from from a song of the same name, from the late Warren Zevon's final album. The song really doesn't have much to do with this blog....its more of a teaser.
I felt compelled to jot down my thoughts on My Atlantis, my involvement with the site, and how it all impacted TBD/Ning.
When TBD closed up shop, about two years ago, TBD/Ning was provided to us, by Robin Wolaner, as I remember, as a "landing strip"....a place to sort things out and find our way on the…

A farmer was overseeing his herd in a remote pasture in Vermont when suddenly a brand-new BMW advanced out of a dust cloud towards him.
The driver, a young man in a Brioni suit, Gucci shoes, RayBan sunglasses and YSL tie leans out the window and asks the farmer, "If I tell you exactly how many cows and calves you have in…

Right Place, Right Time
THOUGHTS ON BEING GRATEFUL AND APPRECIATIVE
One recurring attribute of people who have happiness (or inner peace and contentment) is the attribute of being grateful and appreciative for what is all around them. This is an attribute that all
of us could well cultivate, for it…
When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight. …

The river lies resting beneath the ice. Whether that rest is peaceful or anxious, I cannot say. Is there resentment in the old watery heart at having been "tamed into a series of navigation pools, locked punitively between dams? Does it rest quietly, dreaming of spring and fresh snow melt, or does it wait like an ambush predator beneath its brilliant blanket of snow and ice, waiting for the inevitable fool to try to walk across it's vast width, only to disappear into its icy, ancient…

At first glance, this little addendum to our discussions might seem off-topic. But, is it really, if all I am trying to convey is why you...as a grandparent, or a parent, some other relative or just a
good, caring friend of ALL children...should not overlook the times you
may play a role in a young person's Life as a teacher.
The short conversation that is the basis of this discussion is a bit irreverent...maybe even brusque. It is written from the…

Two years ago today, I met my best friend right here on TBD. She rescued me from a life of mediocrity, repression, and numbness by reaching out to me on a springlike Sunday afternoon. She took off my boots, set aside my gun, and kissed me ever so gently. She was already finding her own new way, and she encouraged me to find mine. We stayed up all night chatting, discovering each other, and realizing this connection we had was big. And since that time, our epic story has grown beyond…

Post something from history you remember from each day of the month...Each new day has something from history to reflect upon. It can be something you remember from your own past if you choose......Just have fun with it.
Discussions on subjects welcome. There may be only one subject or there could be many in one day...depends on how many people respond, but subjects will be changing as the days change, so try not to let any discussions lead into the next days discussions. Hope we can…

the gift
He stood out in the rain, in the night, under the street light: hat in hand looking toward the heavens. Waiting. Expectant. Patient.
I looked down from my 3rd story window and watched him wait, wondering about the who, what, where and why of it all. I went back to the couch returning to my book, but it gave me no pleasure. I was bewitched by this sight of a man in the rain waiting for…
