TBD

TBD on Ning

Oh, what the heck.  I'll show you mine first.

It's that time of the year, when my flower garden is delivering the goods, and I haven't surrendered to the inevitable victory of the weeds, and I feel pretty good about my ability to turn hard work and lots of trips to the garden supply store into pretty flowers.

Here are some of the high points from this Spring so far.

How's your garden doing?

UH, could you dethorn that thing before you send it to me. It is for me isn't it?
That was a gorgeous color rose, Pru!
Danny, Those are some awesome flowers. Have they attracted any chicks yet?

Birds, I mean birds! What??? Birds can be a derogatory label for women? Butterflies, What? That can be offensive to oriental women?? I give up! I'll just say that they should make your whole neighborhood feel gay. That can't possibly offend anyone.
What? Get outta here - really - all these gorgeous flowers are from your garden this year, Danny? Wow!

Here's a shot of my redbuds in bloom... my grandmother just loved them!

and you can catch just a little spray of dogwoods in bloom behind the one on the left.
I think Monday is supposed to be a sunny day. I'll try to remember to post some pics.
One of several iris’s that we have.

Beautiful, darroll!
My guy's in PA this weekend & just sent me several photos he took along a trail today. He said these flowers were so gorgeous, & very fragrant. Does anyone know what they are?

This is Kalmia latifolia, mountain laurel, with its little umbrella-shaped flowers. My mother used to have one in her garden, and I would have loved to have one here, but the soil is too alkaline. All the plants I was used to - azaleas, rhodies, camellias, trilliums - will grow only with special care or not at all.
Thanks, Chez!
Don't have the good ones of the iris yet, but here is an earlier picture from this year's yard:

I really like irises, WS. Your white one looks like one George and I have near our front door.
