Saturday, May 1, 2010, marks the 136th running of the Kentucky Derby. It also marks the copious and conspicuous downing of the Derby’s favorite cocktail, the mint julep. It was served at Churchill Downs’ opening in 1875 and is now the official drink of the run for the roses.
