Well, I shouldn't complain, it could be worse. a) It doesn't really hurt because I had a root canal with the crown, and b) it was at least 20 years ago, so I've gotten plenty of mileage out of it. But it's a vertical split down to the gum. I may need an implant, and I gots no moola for frills this year. Grrrr.

Oh Chez, I so sympathize. I cracked a back molar in three places ten years ago and it had to be removed, I've yet to replace it with a bridge - never mind an implant. Please take care - I so hope it was a back tooth and not a front one?

Not surprising Diana. A beaver's teeth grow continuously, they never stop growing so they just keep wearing them down knawing on trees. I've learned a lot from beavers my whole life. :)
