TBD

TBD on Ning

Kat, or maybe it was akabukowski, once said to me that everyone thinks their life would make a good book.

She is probably right. What do you think?

Here is your chance.

Let's all tell stories from our experiences as we traveled through time.

Ahh, but there has to be rules. They will be pretty loose, but rules there must be.

RULES:

1. It can be any experience that you want to tell us about.

2. It can be as short as one line. Or as long as fifty. Anything over thirty will be deleted.

3.You do not have to end the story at fiftyy lines, but you have to quit writing at the end of fiftyy lines. You can not post again until at least one other person  has posted something.

This ensures that everyone gets a chance.

4.You can continue on the same subject or jump to a new one.

5. Nothing is required to be in chronological order.

6. Very Graphic Sexual discriptions should be posted in the sex talk group. You can direct us to go there if we want to read about it.

7. No one will be checking the facts

8. Additional rules will be posted and implemented as I see fit.

Step right up and post. who knows, the next knock on your door may be Spielberg asking for the movie rights.

helllllooooooooo Quinn, I've been busy making a quilt and even might have a buyer.I'm glad all of you are still here!!!!!!!!! I have painting and insulating to do so I'm a busy , busy lady these days. Miss just parking on the couch and reading all these discussions.

Hi Merry!

I wish I had the patience to do quilting, they are so beautiful! Good luck with that buyer :-)

I do crazy quilts cause I don't have the patience to line alot of stuff up and I'm not that good technically as a seamstress but I love to embroider and so well spend the day in my jammies sometimes just sitting in the comfy chair with my feet up and doing different stitches. It's addictive.
I'm a knitter...I understand the "addictive" thing ;-)

YO Quinn!

                                      GOT YARN?

I think that would make a great bumper sticker.

True...maybe we should qualify it a bit to say for the purpose of claiming societal or moral superiority.

Cruelty is involved no matter how racism is defined.

Love the video....

I am a little late to this conversation but just have to share this.

My oldest son was in 1st grade and had the most wonderful teacher...he soon announced to me that she was getting married and how her 'boyfriend' came to the class and played 'thumbs up seven up' and how fun he was and nice to all the students. Suddenly someone told me that she was marrying a black man [she's  white] along with other derogatory comments about how she would be fired for marrying a ....insert n word here.

I decided to ask my son about "Harry". I said how I had never met him and how would I recognize him...does he have red hair like us? Nope he has brown hair he said. Is it curly? I asked. Nope cut real short. Does he have blue eyes like you? Mom, I don't know. Does he have freckles? No! he's dark.....like Daddy. At this point I knew he did not see the color difference...Hubby gets a tan working outside but my son saw no difference in skin color.

I was one proud Mom....

Maybe I should clarify my position. I am not trying to defend racism, sexism, or fatism. Although I do think that last one is a whole different subject. What I am trying to determine is; why does such behavior exist in todays world? Why do we still tend to make judgements about whole groups of people that we have not had any interaction with?

I rarely see racism practiced out in the open now. But, it is still there.

I wonder the same thing Robbie. Particularly your last sentence…People we have no interaction with.
We seem to be a society that is quick to judge. Is it to make ourselves feel better? To feel superior to another? As an excuse for our bad behavior? Is it ignorance? Indifference? Shame?
I think that fear plays a part. People tend to be afraid of things that they don’t understand. Rather than educate themselves they choose the easy way out…

I rarely see racism practiced out in the open now. But, it is still there.

It is absolutely there! And, often not hidden…Google KKK branches in the United States…
Not to worry - technology will save us from our stupidity.

Technology is only as good as the mind of its user.

What good is spell checking inane sentences.
