TBD

TBD on Ning

Kat, or maybe it was akabukowski, once said to me that everyone thinks their life would make a good book.

She is probably right. What do you think?

Here is your chance.

Let's all tell stories from our experiences as we traveled through time.

Ahh, but there has to be rules. They will be pretty loose, but rules there must be.

RULES:

1. It can be any experience that you want to tell us about.

2. It can be as short as one line. Or as long as fifty. Anything over thirty will be deleted.

3.You do not have to end the story at fiftyy lines, but you have to quit writing at the end of fiftyy lines. You can not post again until at least one other person  has posted something.

This ensures that everyone gets a chance.

4.You can continue on the same subject or jump to a new one.

5. Nothing is required to be in chronological order.

6. Very Graphic Sexual discriptions should be posted in the sex talk group. You can direct us to go there if we want to read about it.

7. No one will be checking the facts

8. Additional rules will be posted and implemented as I see fit.

Step right up and post. who knows, the next knock on your door may be Spielberg asking for the movie rights.

Tonight I received an email from a classmate I met at my high school reunion last June. She was on the reunion committee and they told me at the reunion they had no luck contacting a certain girl and wondered where she had disappeared to. I mentioned that in 1973 I had taken her to a Pink Floyd concert in upstate NY and couldn't really remember taking her home so she might still be there.

Anyway, she wrote to say she is still laughing over that.

That is a vision....!   :-)

The Penn State fiasco most likely dredged up this memory.

When my younger boy was a junior in high school, he was suspended for a week for putting up a website that satirized a teacher of his. When the page was loaded it started playing the song It's Raining Men by the Weather Girls and had as its main attraction numerous tasteful pictures of young boys modeling swimwear. It was made to appear as a sort of profile page for someone whose sexual preferences are slightly askew.

When the teacher got wind of this he threatened legal action and arrest...we had to have a conference with the principal, school social worker, and the teacher in order to try and avoid this.

Within 30 seconds of this fellow opening his mouth I had formulated an unflattering opinion of him - I'm usually right on in determining what makes someone tick. Anyway disaster was avoided with a lot of groveling on my family's part and me keeping my mouth shut listening to this fellow spew much philosophical bullshit.

Anyway, the next year this teacher was fired for inappropriate behavior with some younger students. My first impression of this guy was correct. Don't know the moral of the tale, maybe trust your instincts.

That's got to be the sickest part of getting abused is getting in trouble for it.

I understood every word Kooner, thanks for sharing.

Kooner, thanks for sharing.  i am sorry that you had such a difficult family. From reading some of the writings of my TBD friends about thier families, I have come to appreciate just how good a family I had.

A compelling and inspiring narrative Kooner. Experiences such as that can often lead to bitterness and disillusionment but in your case it has forged you into a caring, articulate and forthright person.

The culture I was brought up in precluded talking about family problems and issues outside of the family so it is difficult for me to expose myself in the manner you have done so eloquentently.

They sound like my inlaws from my first marriage. Thank God, my father in law stopped drinking before I met him otherwise I'm sure it would have been worse. He couldn't talk without swearing and my name as far as he was concerned was Godamn Fucking Mary. My mother in law wasn't shy about calling me that bitch right in front of my kids and my first husband wasn't any better. I had a nice Thanksgiving this year anyway. The turkey came out tasty and I used my grandmother's china. I have a tremendous block that I'm extremely grateful for that keeps me from dwelling on the past most of the time. I'm just glad that I've got my home and friends. From here on out , my life is whatever I make it.

Here is a trailer for a doumentary made in 2009 about the area where I went to grade school.

Back on page 7 of this thread I wrote about getting beat up by one of the Whites.

Here is a trailer about the documentary. These are the desendents of the families who lived around us.

Sounds like the Foys of Burlington. They decided I was psychotic and moved. Seriously the father of six kids and a convicted armed robber. Living next to them was a trip. Maybe that's why all my boys wound up being Marines. Hard telling ,not knowing. I think the grandmother, meme Foy had 26 children.
