lol CWO3ROBBIE....I thought you couldn't spell the volcano's name and in frustration typed Eyjafjallajokull . Then I clicked on the link and that was the actual spelling after all.

Once a volcano is active, it stays active for many years. My family is from a village town near the base of Bulusan Voclano in the Philippines. Actually, my parents' and ex hubby's hometown is called Irosin (erosion) which was created in the aftermath of a complete volcanic eruption. Volcanoes are deadly, but they are beautiful sites and the hots prings created from them nearby are HEAVENLY.....a great place for rendezvous

I was there when it was erupting in 1980s and experienced at least 7 to 11 major earthquakes during the short stay there.

I've been over the lip into Vesuvius near Naples, Itally. It is still active but hasen't erupted since the 1940s. I have also been to Pompeii a few times. It, of course, is the city that was buried by Vesuvius. Interesting city to tour. They have some really interesting pornographic art on some of the interior walls. Now girls, don't run out to book flights as soon as the Icelandic volcano dies down and air travel starts again. They won't let women see the art. I think it has something to do with the Pope declaring that it is only fit for men and young boys.
