TBD

TBD on Ning

Last night I went to my first ever professional Hockey game. We did the whole "Great sports fans thing to start. Food and booze in a club room. Then we went out to the arena. I wished I had a parachute. At least there was no one sitting between me and the stairs. I would be able to get to the bathroom, if/when needed. That was before the 4 guys, each weighing about 300 lbs sat in the four seats between me and the stairs. Oh well, We were rooting for the capitols. The number one team in their division. They were playing the Huricanes. The last place team in their division. A really feel good evening. Well, after the Huricanes scored 3 goals to the Caps big ZIP in the first period, I started to wonder, Will the headlines in the Washington Post on Tue be "Local Father attends Capitals game with son". "Casts unbeatable jinx on local team". Mr Robinson will be forever bared from Verizon Center? Turns out it really wasn't my fault. The Caps had traded the team Capitan and another well liked player away. they announced it to the team just before the game. Sure fire strategy for winning. Right?
I did enjoy the evening, but I am not sure that this experience will turn me into an avid Hockey fan.

Are you a professional sports fan? What sport?

Hubba-hubba? You could have said "nice looking son Robbie". Hubba-hubba?
Quinn, A chip off the old block. His older brother used to complain about how any time he brought a girlfriend to the house all they talked about later was how "Hot" his little brother was.
I'm not much of a sports fan. I love watching the Steelers and that's about it. My brother in law and nephew invited me to a Penguins game sometime this season. I've never been to a hockey game but I can drink beer with the best of them.
Larry, That is one thing that I would find tough about being a capitals fan. The seats are so narrow and high that it is kind of like walking around a mountain ledge. I didn't see any body fall but I bet it happens. They should pass out little instruction sheets telling you what to do when a 300 lb hockey fan comes rolling down from above.
Well, Unfortunetly, you seem to have had plenty of chances to do that the last few years.
I have zero interest in sports, and absolutely would never go to a see a game. If I'm forced at gunpoint to watch sports on TV, it would be a few minutes of a Nascar race and then off goes the TV.
I still like NHL Hockey, but that's about it now. I'm a big Red Wings fan. This year it looks like they're gonna have a tough time making the playoffs, after 19 (I think it is) consecutive years of post season play. I like the "Original Six" teams (well, the Canadiens and the Rangers not so much).....the rest seem like Johnny-come-latelys. LOL

I used to watch NASCAR, but it seems like they've made it into a politically correct, paler image of its former self. Now, if I want to take a nap, I dial to a race, and soon I'm in dreamland.
Looks like fun - but did you make it onto that big TV?
Don't know, I was too busy trying to hang on to the seat and try to not have to go to the bathroom. (:>)

That was fun though, wastching the people on the big TV trying to win Best Smile, or best kiss or other amusing things. And Quinn yes! That number 8 is awlsome. He scored a goal on a shot that went through about 5 other players and the goalie. But i don't think he was at the top of his game. Carolina just flat out played the Caps. The Huricanes had possession of the puck most of the game.
I love to watch hockey. Caleb and I go to several Nashville Preditors games every year. At least as many as we can get free tickets to. Two years ago we went to six games and didn't pay for any. We have tickets on his birthday this year. The seats are in row 5 behind the goal. We have had these seats before and they are great. We also don't have to worry about fat fans rolling over us. The fans are much more rowdy than any other sporting event that I have been to. Caleb loves that part of it. Robbie if you pass through Nashville we could take in a game.
