That name always makes me think of a bunch of drunken sailors sitting at the bar sucking beer out of titty shaped beer dispensors. One of the more bizare Pynchonain images that float around inside my skull.

And, for any of you fellow nutjobs who like Pynchon, I will suggest another Novel by another author.

"Cryptonomicon" by Neal Stephenson. It is every bit as geeky and wacky as anything Pynchon. Anyone who ever had anything to do with the hidden world of cryptography, international finance, the Phillipines, Douglas MacArther, beer, or world conquest will love this novel. Rumors about a movie keep surfacing. But i doubt it will ever happen.
