How do these two jive? They don't.
To convince me that we should do something about global warming, you have to first prove that it is actually getting warmer. Then prove that humans cause it.
You can't do neither.
The whole global warming movement is a scam.

I totally agree...It is freezing here in Baltimore...When is it going to get above the freezing mark.
Yea let me tell you something about grade school science. Do you remember water dispacment. When something heavy is placed in water the water level will go up. If I have a glass of ice tea, and the ice melts, does the glass of tea overflow? No, because the weight of the ice is the same as the water that is melted fromthe ice. Know this as fact, how is that when the iceburges melt, our ocean levels riseand flood everyone?
Al Gore needs to ask a grade schooler about science.
Sigh.....damn this is sad. Has it been THAT long since your basic high school science classes? The ice DISPLACES the same amount of space as the water that MAKES the ice fills when the ice melts. This is simply "pseudo science" from the Jethro Bush mindset....promulgated by oxyRusty Limpnuts. Psychologis call it "stinkin' thinkin'"
No, you can't convince me of global warming by telling me to do research. All the research that I have seen shows temperatures up in some areas and down in others. I do not see anything that proves an average increase in temperatures. If you have a link to valid scientific research, I would like to see it.
The cap and trade legeslation will devistate our economy by raising energy costs for everyone. We could easily see a 50% increase in our electric bills. All of this for some crazy idea of a catastrophe that we can't even say for sure will happen.
Al Gore is making millions off this hoax. Usually when someone has a company that benefits from information from activism, that person is usually discredited as an opportunist. Since Al Gore has the media behind him he's the goto expert and even wins the noble peace prise! WOW
"All the research that I have seen shows temperatures up in some areas and down in others."

If "all the research" you have comes from the same source as the Melting Ice Cube nonsense, it's time you changed your sources.
My friend in Tampa, FL is telling me it's in the 20s at night. First thing I said to her is, "global warming".
Al Gore is supposed to be the global warming champion. He is the one most public and out front on the issue. He even one the nobel peace prise for it. If he is not your spokesman on this subject who is.
The interesting thing is this- I don't see anyone, including himself. defending him. Whoever disagrees with him is called names "flatearthers" and deniers. I'm a denier alright. I deny just about everything he says.
He says there is a conscientious in the scientific community. That's not even how it works. Scientists do research and post their articles in the different science journals. It only takes one scientist to try to recreate the research. If the same conclusion is not reached, the results would e debunked. That's what happened in the big email controversy when the atmosphere institute's email was hacked into and they were exposed. They bent and twisted their numbers and did not want to reveal their research for the other scientist.
We always go to Al Gore because he is the easiest to disprove. When he says things like, in 5 years there will be no iceburges in the north pole. Come on, someone has to call him on this nonsense.
Since there are now more polar bears than ever and they can swim about 20 miles at a time, I think they will be ok. Besides even if there was less ice in the north pole we can't do anything about it.
My head is not in the sand. I am applying logic to the global warming arguement and it is just not holding up because it is built on an emotional claims.
I don't want to see this world go cataclismic with all the worse case sanarios coming true. If there really is a problem in our enviroment I'm all for making the sacrifices needed to correct it. I just don't agree that man made global warming exist.
Like most Americans, you seem to want to DEMAND immediate and verifiable results....and see the IMMEDIATE as an argument against science that looks at the long term and has tried to explain, time after time after time, that the IMMEDIATE effects are going to be weather extremes.
Interesting that no one here is defending Al Gore. OK who do I listen to? Al Gore's arguement is full of holes who has the answers.
This is another pattern that I have notice with you lib/dems. You are VERY partisan all the way and you think that the other side is also. The reason why I am against global warming is because I don't see the evidence for it. Sure if you wanted to classify me based on what i think about issues then I'm a conservative republican but that doesn't mean that I am following any kind party line. I'm against Obama in just about everything but as soon as he was sworn in, he sent the predator drones to bomb pakistan. I was on his side then.
There wasn't much about Clinton I liked either but when he sighned the welfare reform bill I was on his side.
If there is really a problem and global warming does exist- prove it. Where do I go to see the research.
I want to see a graph showing the average global temperatures of the last 200 years. If the graph shows that the temperatures are trending up, fine lets see it. Does anyone have a link?
I hear from you and the media that we are doomed because the temps are going up. I here from the alt. media that we are in global cooling trend. Who do I believe?
I have a few things to say.
1. I find it very strange that some one of your beliefs would use Yoda as an avatar. Your opinions are much more in line with the Emporer and the Empire.
2. You can see that global warming exists by looking at the polar ice caps, glaciers all over the world and ocean levels.
3. Even though I believe global warming is caused by man's activities. What does it matter? If Florida, California and many other places are underwater it is bad even if it is by natural causes and we need to prepare for it.
4. Call yourself what you want but your beliefs are Neanderthal and where are they today?
First off, talk to a climatologist. It's weather destabilization not global warming. You're hearing on the news these days that this is the coldest it's been in 25 years, but you're forgetting that this was the norm 25, 30, 50 years ago.

2. Al Gore's good intentions were blown out of the water by his taking a political office. I realize he thought he could make a difference by doing that, but when you mix your environmental concerns with political leanings you automatically drive away those that are party line defiant.

3. Gore is a politician. He's interest in climate change may be heart-felt, but his education in it ranks at a hobby level at best. So yes, some of his terminology and his examples have holes in them, but he's trying to make something big understandable on a smaller level.

4. The leaked emails were completely taken out of context. Yes, they had questions about some figures that didn't fit the established pattern, but they were omitted due to lack of understanding the variances rather than trying to manipulate the figures.

Scientist confer via email on their research, not all of those emails should be used in the research results. These were personal emails, not information proving a massive cover up.

5. The report prepared for the Senate arguing against climate change is a farce. The study's two principal authors and NIPCC leaders S. Fred Singer and Craig D. Idso are both associated with various organizations that have
gotten generous funding from Exxon-Mobil.

Of course Exxon doesn't want any environmental changes made because they are the worst polluters and it would bring about less and less use for oil, they're main money maker.

Link to a related story.

6. About the polar bears. This is the first time in recorded history that they have found polar bears that have drown. If you'll look at the satellite pictures that were recently released by the government, you'll see that there has been significant shrinkage of the polar ice caps. Polar bears can swim about 20 miles, but with the lose of the ice caps, some bears have 40-60 miles between them.

7. Whoever mentioned the how ice displaces water was half right. The lower half. The iceberg that was previously floating above the sea didn't displace anything. But when they melt, the water has to go somewhere. That's why the sea level is rising. What was above the sea is now part of it.

Please think all of these things through thoroughly and kick the politics to the curb. Damn politicians shouldn't be using this as a party favor anyway. Any politician that is adamantly against weather destabilization is most likely getting huge donations from one of the major oil companies. That you can bank on.
