Growing up there was a pond down the street and everyone who lived around it would leave a snow shovel out for anyone who cared to shovel off the pond. And every Spring someone had to find out when the ice was too thin. One year it was my turn. Happily it was only about three foot deep but it was a tad chilly. No, it was fu*king cold. Those snow shovels had a new use, to help pull out the idiot who fell through the ice. LOL

Doing the standard childhood idiot thing - Night time, dark, snowing, and throwing snowballs at passing traffic. I was hiding behind a tree and listening for approaching cars. Had a nice, fat, half-snow, half-slush ball in my hand. Heard a car coming, jumped out from behind the tree and fired at point-blank range, and even as the snowball left my hand I was running in the opposite direction as fast as I've ever run in my life, as the squad car had only one cop in it instead of two, and I figured that I had a better chance of outrunning just one. Let alone the fact that he had his window halfway down and the snowball nailed the edge of the window, exploding all over the inside of the car. Amazing how much info the mind can register in a split second, ain't it?

We are on snow watch here in Houston. My secretary is watching and as soon as it snows she is going to tell us so we can all run outside!

You know what is funny. I work at a high school and all the kids are trying to sneak outside to see the snow! We went out and played for awhile. I don't know where you live but I live in North Houston and it is sticking to the ground now!

I just saw a news report. Houstonites have been seen sledding on quarter inch deep patches of snow with plastic trash bags. The Texas National Guard is on standby for the possibility of mass hysteria.......
