It seems disrespectful to the nuns, because they are women, to have women willing to strip naked for a bunch of horny bastards so close. I say this with a bit of anger because I don' t think there is a woman in this world who has not been abused in some way sexually, from words to touching to rape. I don't think religion or prudery has anything to do with this.  It's respect.

When my son had naked women on the wall in his room, I told him to take them down out of respect for my daughter and me, and he did.

I am woman, hear me roar! Let the men go somewhere else to get there jollies off. It's a wide wide world.

the video was less than informative. they give no timeline for the ordinance that delineates the 1,00 foot rule. did the stripclub precede the ordinance or were the permit to build and the certificate of occupancy issued in error by the governing body? the talking dipshits on fox were expressing their beliefs but their beliefs do not create a situation to revoke a license. can't make a judgement call without the actual facts. the stated opinions that there are too many stripclubs have no merit as far as the issue at hand. capitalism at its finest says people are free to engage in legal businesses whether it is a stripclub or a flowershop. i don't have a dog in this fight. the last time i was in a stripclub or the like was the early 70s and i find them borderline offensive at best but i do find the mental and legal gymnastics that seem to be involved by either side to bolster their positions to be amusing

I don't know the law.  As I said, leave the nuns in peace. There have to be some little areas that are clean and good.  I know, I'm a dreamer.

The guy talking about the nuns saving the souls of strip joint clients is an ass hole. The nuns aren't telling people how to act--they are not being like those teetotalers that used to go into bars and smash the liquor. They are saying that their contemplative way of life is being disrupted.

In my humble opinion if the strip club is causing a disturbance which is bothering the nuns or anybody else then then local authorities should do something about that. The fact that they are nuns is irrelevant. As the owner of the club said they have the right to believe what they want and he has the same right. As to the location I am sure they had to get a business license which was passed on by local authorities.

I feel the way do partly because I believe in civil liberties but also because of something that happened 40 years ago. There was a bar, what today would be called a dive bar, that I frequented a lot when I was in my 20's. It was a great place. As Toby Keith says "I loved that bar". Then they built a church across the street. According to the law in place here at the time a bar could not be within 1/2 mile of a church. The bar was there first so it was Grandfathered in. But the city would no longer issue permits for the bar to do any maintenance or anything at all to the building. In a few years it was closed because it was deemed unsafe. That was the first of many things that made me dislike churches.

always entertaining, isn't it? the way it works is they can pass noise ordinances and the club proprietors might have to do something to curtail the decibel level that escapes their building. the nuns, with all due respect, have no greater right to demand neighbors change their behaviors than anyone else. (by the way i used to have a nun as a sister-in-law and she was a very nice person. i am not adverse to their beliefs and wants. this kind of goes to the heart of the question of equality. are some people 'righter' than others and therefore they get better or different treatment? there is a town in arkansas where the town officials refused to issue a permit for a church to a 'pagan' religion.

and just the other night i was watching nightline with a story about brazil and the large numbers of churches that are opening up there. the reporter was blathering away about the fact that there was no regulation or very little regulation as to founding and running a church. so all these people create their own churches...and take donations and seed money and yatta yatta. the reporter must have forgotten that we have exactly the same situation in america. any unemployed mufflermechanic can rent the abandoned 7/11 store and found the church of the holy slushie and walkin muffler repairs.  turn on the television on sunday and dial thru the stations and you'll see busloads of failed car salemen and successful hucksters pleading with you to send in your life savings so gawd can reward you with 10 times the blessings.

BEEBE, Arkansas (KRON) — An Arkansas man who says he wants to start a church in his spare room says local officials were all for it until they found it he isn’t a Christian.

Betram Dahl says city officials in the Arkansas town of Beebe now tell him there’s no way he will be approved to open a Pagan sanctuary and store on his property citing zoning restrictions.

“When they knew we were going to open a church, it wasn’t an issue,” Dahl told Arkansas TV station KARK. “We explained to [the mayor] the house had a building that we could open the church in, and he had no problem.”

Then Dahl says the mayor found out the church was going to be a “Seeker’s Temple” and spiritual goods shop.

“We were basically given a cease and desist you know — shut down. We hadn’t even unpacked. We aren’t even open — how are we getting this?” the High Priest says.

The City Attorney’s office says zoning laws don’t permit the temple but Dahl says there’s an exemption in the code for “places of worship” and “private non-profits.” Officials concede several people run home based businesses out of homes on Dahl’s street.

The High Priest says he also spoke with his local alderman who refused to help. When the TV station asked the alderman about the situation, they say he responded that Dahl’s “God is not my God.”

Well i have never engaged into a strip club , never will . I could care less if they all shut down  . Probably wrong in saying that .

Fox news always has the hottest looking women...no disrespect intended (of course).

They sure do ...

well just my 2 cents .. the video went on for over 4 minutes and i didn't get one single fact that was useful in makin some kinda decision .. just how close was this club to the convent ?? 999 feet instead of 1000 ?? who was there first ?? if they're in violation of the zonin how did they get their permit ?? if the zonin made a mistake then let the town pay for the club to move and for their leasehold improvements , fixtures etc. etc.. i also went to catholic school so i know about nuns .. i found out in the first grade that nuns lie when they left me in a school that caught on fire .. so it wouldn't surprise me if they were stretchin the truth just a little bit here .. and like problem i think the last titty bar i was in was in the 80's so it makes no difference to me one way or the other .. but this is an important point , the separation of church and state should always be maintained , otherwise you end up with the spanish inquisition and these muslum honor killins cause a suni woman looked at a shia man .. i agree that women should be respected but that also means that if they want to be titty dancers that decision should also be respected .. anyway at this point this story is so incomplete i have no idea who is right or wrong .. post more facts that we can understand and we can go from there .. all we're doin now is speculatin ..

Here is a question I have: Do you think the girls really WANT to be titty dancers? I'm serious.  do the WANT that?

What about prostitution. Do you think the girls that do that want to?

I watch The Bunny Ranch thing on HBO and now there is one about strippers as well, and they DO seem very happy with what they do.  I would hate to think that some sweaty, ugly, stinky guy who was also a louse was looking at me or touching me,Eeewwww!

I didn't see the video (where is it?) but as much as I used to go to New Orleans I would have to say, yes some people like that lifestyle. It is also usually pretty good money as well.  As far as the nun thing I would have to see the video first.

I said I didn't want an ugly, sweaty guy looking at or touching me, well, sweaty might be OK if the guy looked like this, so for the sake of a more accurate statement, I will strike sweaty---
