TBD

TBD on Ning

I am starting my Spring break right now...I know some of ya'll have been teachers and some of you still are, so I know you can appreciate the feeling.

This got me to thinking about relaxation...even if we don't work a job everyday, I imagine we all have a routine we might like to take a break from...

What kinda things help you flip that switch from work mode to vacation mode...

For me, I like a change of scenery...I like to go places...do different things...sometimes travel.

I'm on the northeast coast in Jacksonville Beach.  Frenchy is down in Ft. Myers, though!

Let me know what your plans are...maybe we can have lunch or dinner or something...

I'm in Central FL....about 40 mi inland from Tampa...right off I4.

I'll send ya a number...would be great if we can connect...

Frenchy's shy...I've been after him for years to meet someplace....pfft.

Hi ,,,, how are you all my sweet friends of TBD,,, tomorrow early morning I am flying to Atlanta ,,, first time to visit ,,, but I can guess it is warm bright & sweet city ,,, just 3 weeks stay ,,,, ant recommandation to see near surroundings ,,, and ohhhh how lovely if can meet some sweet friends in Atlanta ,, and have a cup of coffee all together.

I've never been, but I've heard the Aquarium there is great - Stone Mountain is just outside Atlanta, and something to see while you are there.  The Underground USED to be fun, but ... not so sure about going there any more. Buckhead is beautiful to at least take a drive through - be sure to drive past the Governor's Mansion+ on West Paces Ferry!  Can't say its going to be warm there now, though - I lived in Canton (40 miles NNW from courthouse to courthouse) for 13+ years, and still have friends there - it's been pretty darn cold!

Caleb and I are experts on vacations. We go on one at least every month and most of the time twice a month. Our favorite places are The Great Smokey Mountains, Williamsburg, VA, and Hilton Head, SC. We also like to visit state and national parks in Tennessee and Kentucky.

All nice places to visit...I like the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Biltmore, Asheville etc. too. I used to have family in Memphis...VA...love DC...lots of trips..I enjoy it.

You people are too worldly for me with all this vacation stuff.  I think I will start a group for hermits and misanthrops; and it should play to those doing solitary confinement also. ☺   But Florida is looking good from up here right come toward the end of many months of winter.

You definitely need a little sun...grin!

Welcome to the real world Kathy! I'll be shovelling in about an hour.

We Northerners love Spring.....I'm thinking of hiding the g-kids easter baskets in the piles of snow surrounding my house.

A couple years ago I ventured off from FL at this time of year...for the Tulip festival up in Asheville at the Biltmore. The day we got there there was a big storm and it got pretty cold...and every tulip was blown off it's stem...not a single one survived...that was a bummer.

I hope you enjoy your trip Kathy...you and the grandkid coloring eggs this year?

Switching from work mode to vacation mode for me is the feeling of joy I get inside me, knowing that I am getting ready for some rest and relaxation and fun.  I haven't had a vacation in a long while, but hopefully, I will make it to Maryland this year to see my son, daughter-in-law and grandson, Jack.

I am a little bit concerned though at how I'll react when my grandson, who has ADHD, has one of his fits.  Apparently they are not pleasant to see.  I haven't seen the little guy since he was 5 and he just turned 8, so it'll be interesting.
