TBD on Ning

I found a dead owl in my driveway this morning.  I don't live out in the country or by any forests, but there was no mistaking that the large bird corpse was an owl.  Thanks to some neglectful neighbors we do have a community of feral cats, but I thought that owls killed cats...not the other way around.  The bird didn't look mangled or partially eaten.  Our temperatures dropped a little bit last night, but nothing so cold as to freeze wildlife.  Could he have caught bird flu?  I know some of our blue jays were dying from that several years back.  Should I call someone?

You should call whatever agency in Texas is in charge of wildlife. Owls like all predator birds are a protected species. They would want to investigate I would think.

Thanks P.A. (Good to see you!)

I guess I'll go dig it out of the trash.

I would guess, old age.

Maybe he was just playing possum.

Might do a catscan.

A dead owl?  I don't think I've ever seen one.

An owl hooting outside your window at night means death is coming. But......the owl would have to be alive.
