I just saw Twain's bio [volume 1 of 3] up close and personal.
I don't think I've ever seen a book that big!
The man is interesting and all, but what could he possibly have to say for a hundred gazillion pages? In really small print, no less!
Most of the book is preliminary auto attempts, explanations of references he made in the bio and appendices, index. A lot of filler. Was confined to a motel room working out of town and finished that sucker.
I wonder when Volume 2 comes out.
I loved The Moonstone!
Have you read Woman In White? If not, you should.
You reminded me. I made a note of getting it next but got sidetracked. One of the characters in The Moonstone made me want to read Crusoe. Ha.
