is there when you need him.

Dad ( far right ) and his brothers in 1939 going off to work on the farm. He always projected this no nonsense, tough as all hell image...except with us kids.

Very handsome, I can see the resemblance :-)
If he were still alive I'd tell him what you said Quinn...but then he might try to hit on you.
He's cute. Is he a Scorpio?  lol

A dad is someone you could turn to when you have a soul shaking question about the universe.

Btw, my dad is an agnostic.

Sorry, Maricel, I aplologize, and I know this is not what you are looking for. But, I gotta tell you what my father means to me. Drunk. To the point of coming home drunk and taking a boot off and smashing every light bulb in the house. Kickiung my mother in the stomach while pregnant with my baby sister. She had to have emergency surgery as soon as she was born, because her intestines were on the out side of her body. OK, how about step fathers? One that lasted 6 months. Drunk. All I remebber of "Jim" is him coming home and watching TV with his dinner and many beers in front of him. He was "kinda" nice to us kids until they got married, then we were totally ignored. Step father #2, DRUNK, DRUNK, Well at the time I thought he was the best thing since sliced bread. Put us in a nicer home than I had ever experienced, better schools, etc. Sad to say, but it took me about 30 years to learn he was playing touchy feely with my sister, and my little brother too. I barely escaped this predator, but wasn't savvy enough to tell anyone what the monster was up too.

TBub,

I'm sorry to hear your story. I'm glad you've learned to be the better person because of those earlier experiences. The fact that you can love and care for your wife is testimony of that.

I realize that I am blessed to have a caring and steadfast father. My kids were not so lucky. Their dad is caring, but not steadfast. Though he is ok as a person and owns up to his mistakes, he did give us all much grief many years ago.

Thanks Maricel, I hesitated for several days to jump in with my story, because I knew it was at odds with the premise of your post. I should have added that my father in law was a great dad to me. He treated me as a son. I was at his bed side when he passed, and I miss him dearly.
Wow, TeeBubbaDee, I have a relative that is creepy that way too. Told his wife about him and got ignored. I have the official persona non-grata status going on in my family but when I step back and look at who I'm dealing with it isn't so bad. As a teenager I kicked that bastard right in the nuts. It was worth it.

Loves the fact that you've been born!

My Dad was awesome, thank God!
