When we were kids, one of my younger brothers dubbed the folks "Mops and Pops". Pops passed nine years ago, but Mops is still here, and she's still affectionally known as Mops.
We probably won't be tweaking her nickname any time soon....it stilll works for us.

I just learned this morning that my long time buddy Nake lost his mother, Jean, yesterday. Back in the day, when Nake and I were a couple of dumbass young dudes with all the answers, his mom was always there....very patient and non judgmental. She was like a back-up mom to me....I called her Aunt Jean.
Today I'll be thinking a lot about Aunt Jean. I'll be celebrating Mother's Day with my mother and family today, but a part of me will be with Nake and his family too.
Rest in peace, Aunt Jean.
