TBD

TBD on Ning

It's Friday.

Chucks is gone and so is his Q&A Group. As JayLee feared so are the Vibes. Since there is no Question and answer group there appears to be no check in.

So Let's do it over here. It's the start of the weekend! Time to have fun.

There is all kinds of bad news.

1. Looks like tbd is splintering.

2. After two days the TBD Stalwarts has only 7 members.

3. The Stock Market tanked yesterday.

4. The end of the world is near.

5. The Zombies are still here

Everybody check in and give me some good news.

It's a social, cultural, thing with a little weird mixed in.
Where you from d's that you don't know about the magical qualities of black eyed peas?

(((Robbie!)))

Well, I'm from Alabama, Robbie, but I don't know nothin' 'bout no black-eyed peas.

And I have heard of goin' behind the barn, but it wasn't in regards to prayin' or eatin' sandwiches. And my grandmother used to serve boiled okra in stewed tomatoes & I just found it gross; no 2 ways about it, that was some nasty stuff.

Supposed to FRY okra.....
My grandmother used to serve it fried & boiled. At the same meal. '-)
I think I have, on numerous occasions, made my feelings about okra abundantly clear...next topic please
lol. and grits. I'm w/ya, 100%, on the okra. But someday, I intend to cook you up some yellow, stone-ground grits. And you're gonna like 'em, I betcha. I just made some for mr. hottie this past weekend. It was the first time he'd ever eaten them, and he was expecting those mushy-slimy, tasteless white ones like you get in restaurants. He was pleasantly surprised. He liked 'em! '-)
d's.......you're from Alabama and you don't know nuthin' 'bout black-eyed peas?? And you don't like fried okra...or "okry" as we say here in the Lone Star state. Me thinks possibly a check of your Southern credentials  may be in order. Well, ok you eat grits.....but no peas and okry?? Now I'm not talking about the stuff you find in restaurants where each rather large slice of okry is individually  encased in what may or not be corn meal, but like Mother used to do it, Slice the pods into small slices, pour 'em into an iron skillet and then coat them in a dusting of corn meal....a little oil or bacon grease and then fry. Now, on a plate....a big plate,  feature a mound of fried okry, squash and potatos fried up together, black-eyed peas, or red beans, tomatoes, a slice of onion, corn bread and a big glass of sweet  tea. I know....a heart attack on a plate....but so good. I don't like boiled okry either, but I do like it in vegetable soup.
Miss Q....there simply is no hope for you.....no grits....no okry....what about biscuits?

I have been served some that should have been hockey pucks........but no, I'm talking about these.....mine......yummy with butter and jelly or drowning in white gravy. Or with eggs and sausage, or with most anything for supper.

I was in Tampa last week and I knew I was in the "South" when they served biscuits and gravy on the breakfast buffet :-)

I have had biscuits, good ones, and they are delish!

Don't like the gravy, but, dripping with butter? YUM!

Quinn, You were in Tampa and didn't give me a call????
