I picked up the Bible off the nightstand the other night and read a bit. The front mentioned this guy Gideon and the inside cover mentioned, in pencil, this girl in Room #12 and all of her "specialties". I likely won't stay in that hotel again.
Maybe you're thinking of John Cale's "Gideon's Bible", from his first album "Vintage Violence". Maybe you heard me play it. Maybe I can do it next Sunday, as even YouTube doesn't have a copy that I could embed here. It's better than "Rocky Raccoon", anyway.
If you play that one then you have to follow it up with "Paperback Bible" by Lambchop.
Better than the Beatles?
Everytime I see a dead racoon that has been run over by a car I think of that song and start to sing. My kids always thought I was crazy. Maybe I am.
Mmmmm...possum and raccoon roadkill stew....mmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Speaking of road kill. We were right? We are starting to see a lot of armadillos on the road here. Seems the are moving north. Maybe they will be frozen out this winter.
Armadillos in TN, who'd a thunk it?
Do we have anybody from Oklahoma here? I drove through it about twenty years ago. I have absolutely never seen so much roadkill in my entire life. 'Dillos, 'Possums, Antelope, Jackrabbits, Skunks, Coyotes....I think that they use it all on the House Special at "Norton's" pizza.

Florida was Second Place.
Why didn't I get the Newt ad? All I got was Animal Removal ads. Oh, and Coon Repellent.
Come to think of it, A Newt is an animal, and he was removed.
Armadillos are up here in west central Missouri. They started showing up about four years ago. My oldest boy didn't believe me so I told him and his girlfriend where I had seen a roadkill. They found it and threw it in the back of the pick-up truck. My boy wanted to show it to his buddies......three days later....I glanced in the back of his truck and there was an armadillo pancake. The thing had flattened out and was just a tad on the smelly side.
A couple of the ads on my page:

I think this one is aimed at the roadkill readership.

A fitting memorial.
