Yes, for cards and such. It seems more personal than an email. Also if the postmark matters more than the contents. Mailing your tax return can buy you a few extra days to come up with the cash.
Snailmail from friends is one of my favorite treats. Maybe I will take a bunch of stationary with me on vacation and write to a few friends. I have a wonderful penpal via email and I think it's rather sad that the correspondance will someday just be deleted instead of saved in a shoebox in my attic for the grandkids to find. I make my own cards with relief printing and photos and they're meant to be saved and held onto.

I do sometimes, especially to older friends. There is something quite lovely about sitting down with a pen and enjoying the physical movement of the pen on paper. I've bought special fountain pens for just such occasions.
I use it for greeting cards and I occasionally send a hand written letter to My Lady. Nothing will ever replace the feeling of tearing open an envelope, feeling the paper crinkle in your fingers, unfolding the letter, the smell of the paper, and seeing words actually written by someone you love.....touching something your lover touched and knowing the time spent to write, stick a stamp on it and mail it really was worth the effort. We are losing the art of writing and the personal touch of a hand written note. Sad, very sad.....
