Researchers who carried out "tickling sessions" on gorillas, chimpanzees and orangutans, believe that it started out as a "grunt-like" noise with our distant ancestors and gradually turned into the more sophisticated chuckles and guffaws we know today.
They made the assertions published in the journal of Current Biology after finding that the evolution of laughter…

I do love to share with you the friend note I like:)
A truly spiritual man or woman would like to have a serene mind. The only way to
keep calm in this troubled world is to have a serene mind. The calm and
sane mind sees spiritual things as the true realities and material things as
only temporary and fleeting. That sort of mind can be never obtained by
reasoning, because reasoning powers are limited by space and time.
That kind of a mind can never be obtained…

I hate it when . . .
Yeah-ya. That’s it, I really do hate it when. I mean really. I. Really. Hate. It. When. Oh. Yeah. I’ll explain.
I was in town the other day. One of the shop windows was advertising THE NEXT WAVE, and I’ll get to that. The window indicated we would get a preview. It’s supposed to be a fashion statement of some kind. It seems that if the next wave…

I'm older now ,wired ,tired, fed up, strung out, worn down, seen too many pop idols, solved too many riddles ,still no closer to satisfied, too tired to struggle, still got my hands tied.Waiting for the bridge to give, life is fair because we all get one life to live, nobody is happy, the richest are dead, the poorest ain't fed, the middle freak always got a beef, everybody hoping for some relief, waiting for the break, hoping for some slack, never remain calm never react to a sudden change ,try…

I was cleaning up an old PC that was in the family so my mother would be able to send and receive e-mails from me when I discovered the following that my daughter had posted to her facebook account. Although I don't agree with everything she has to say, I enjoyed her blog and decided to share it with my cyber friends on TBD (I had earlier shared a blog my son had posted so now I have treated them both the same).
First, a little bit of background about my daughter. While her older…

Crazy, hurricane-force winds and torrential rainstorms don't usually happen here. We haven't even had much rain for many years (we've been in a Stage 2 or 3 drought for a long time now). That all changed when my little street became a raging river in short order this afternoon, and you should have seen all the trash and recycling cans (trash day) floating down the street! I was watching the action out front when I heard the commotion out back.....…

It seems that every time a story is printed about the Obama's enjoying a night out on the town, it includes a lavish lobster dinner at a swanky eatery.
Tsk-tsk.
And we know Miss Michelle didn't have any trouble blowing out the candles because her husband invited the 'inner circle' to join in the festivities, like Marian Robinson, Michelle's mother, and Atty General Eric Holder and his wife Sharon Malone. Eric and Cheryl Whitaker, and…

The idea that we need something that we don’t have right now is the root of discontent. We are never completely satisfied with this moment. Even when we get everything we thought we always wanted, it feels like there is something missing. Why? Because we have become so accustomed to waiting for something more, that nothing is ever enough. The habit of feeling dissatisfied has become commonplace in our lives. This is true for the rich and the poor, for the loners and the social butterflies among…

This came through a wise and wonderful Friend, I like it! I think it tells the story of human kind. Surely it sifts out the important from the mundane, the useful from the "not so much"...However it is not for those who consider themselves "normal", "sane" or "regular" No this is only for the Forthright, The Unique, Kind, Intelligent and "Crazy"…
