Dreams

I know "everyone dreams", but many don't remember those dreams. I do. And some of mine are in color; if you ever dreamed in color, you would know it.  Anyway, now that I'm older and have health…Continue

It's only 28 degrees here, but it'll be mid to upper 40's on Friday and Sunday. Maybe some of this snow will melt!  I'm just glad I don't need to go out at all for a while. I tend to stock up on…Continue

I had the top 3 shelves of the tall bookcase full of family pictures. I decided to go back to showing some of my fav music boxes. I have  3 large ones on the top shelf now, with a few family pics on…Continue

Computer problems?

For the last few days, I've noticed that my laptop 'freezes' at times. At first, I thought it was the 'game' I was playing, but then it happened when I was playing Solitaire--the one that comes with all Windows computers.  It was happening frequently, which worried me.    So, since it's been 18 months since I did a Reset on this 6-year-old laptop, I thought maybe that's what it needed.  My other option was to ask my computer guru to look at it, to see if they could see what the problem was.…See More

Cleaning out things--and a suprise find.

A few days ago, I decided to clear out my huge graphics folder. When I had pages at another site, I used a lot of graphics. I had 'theme pages': everything from my favorite tv shows to my favorite colors, etc.  My Graphics folder, even after a bit of weeding, was still 20.2 GB.  Within two days, that 'huge' folder was down to 9GB! And there's still almost 50 folders to go through. I'm sure most of those are Duplicates, so...I don't expect to keep many from those folders.       My main idea was…See More

Names for Drugs

Am I the only one who notices that there are 'new' drug names almost daily??  Some of them are so far out, ridiculous that it sounds like teenagers are naming them. Not to mention, if they'd stop all the TV advertising, they could cut prices! I just saw another one: Fasenra.  I don't know about everyone else, but 'I' don't tell my doctor which meds I'd like to try! I think my doctors are much more capable of choosing which one fits my symptoms.  Out of my 6 meds, only one is 'name brand'. Being…See More

Too many email addresses?

I've been trying to 'organize' lately.  I realized I have a total of 9 email addresses: 1 ATT.net, 4 Gmail & 4 Outlook. There are a number of reasons for this.  I'd like to 'downsize', but for now I need 3 for different web pages. Since Gmail no longer notifies you of comments/messages on social sites, I had to switch to Outlook.com for those. And I 'like' Gmail for other things. I might be able to get rid of 2 Gmail; but we'll see. As soon as I get the new option in Gmail of 'changing' my…See More

It's always something with computers, lol.

My daughter gives me her old laptop computers when she doesn't need them. Which is good--I get something 'new to me' without buying it. I bought my 17 in. HP laptop in 2019. I think it was 2021 when my daughter gave me this 15 in. laptop. Both were built in 2019 & have been working fine, with needing a few 'resets' over the years. Anyway, I think it was 2024 when she gave me yet another laptop. That one would be perfect if it only had more RAM (it has 4GB, which is too slow for what I…See More

Winter!

December was warm--but Jan. hit with a vengeance! We had about 11 inches of snow & then temps down to zero and below this past week. With a neighbor's help, my husband (after 3-4 days) got our car cleared off & the driveway halfway cleaned off as well. But since we had already done our monthly stock-up--and before it hit, my husband also found some small bundles of wood in case we need the fireplace--I don't plan on going out at all till it's warmer! We had to turn the furnace up a…See More

Writing and 'AI'

I often get the 'option' to use AI to 'improve' things that I write; I do not like that. But I did try it once, and it was only a couple of words that were different. So I was happy to learn that I'm doing all right.Anyway, I also read a lot of books. Recently, I've seen so many by someone with a certain name. It seemed odd to me--so many titles and many with the names of two authors. Well, I decided to check it out. Today, I learned that originally, this was just a name that a company used to…See More

Weeding out at this stage of life

I'm a collector. Over the years, I've collected many things: books, stuffed animals (mainly the tiny Beany baby cats), key chains, refrigerator magnets, paper bookmarks, DVDs of my favorite TV shows and movies (started as VHS tapes, then converted to DVD), CDs of all my favorite music (a total of 13 now), post cards from all over the world (courtesy of many pen pals), pictures of those pen pals and their families, all the stories I've ever written (close to a dozen short stories & maybe 8…See More

Christmas Decorations

I think it's too early, but the young guy across the street has already put up a HUGE amount of Christmas lights!  My gosh, so many lights!! He usually puts out some inflatable things so we have that to look forward to. I can't wait!! The next time he turns on the lights to check them, I'll try to take a picture. I was completely overwhelmed when I saw how many he has put up!!  He's a single guy in his mid 20's, so I guess it's surprising that he's so into decorating. See More

Nice to hear from you! I am never on TBD anymore, mostly since I'm not on my computer like I used to be. I am still reading, though. I'm currently sloggin through an interesting history of the Orkney Islands called "Storm's Edge: Life, Death and Magic in the Islands of Orkney" by Peter Marshall.

Hope you're doing well and thank you for reaching out!

Hi Dianne! I forget about this place, until I get a notification LOL! I played with my layout and got it out of the summery one into a more fall looking (almost) one! LOL!
