Good morning, friends. Al, what a lot of work on your place. You need the snow to give yourself a rest. lol That fire must have been scarey - glad it didn't spread. Glad to hear from Chief & Shelley too.
Our temps have been up & down dramatically but yesterday I moved a few of the plants I brought in for the winter back onto the deck overlooking the lake. There isn't enough shade yet for the palm & the spider plants - they get sunburned this early. Some of me seeds finally are sprouting & I see my rows are not as straight as I thought. Oh well, stuff is growing and my son's tomatoes are starting to blossom already!
Rain expected tonight but the day's entertainment will be watching the neighbor's drive getting asphalt. Can you smell it from there?
*** SNOW ***
Give me a break!
It's almost Easter, and we are looking at over an inch of the white stuff this afternoon and evening!!! Need to find Mother Nature so we can have a talk with her! - LOL!

Hi Gang!
I was able to sleep an entire night and got lots of sleep.... Went to church in the AM, then out to the garden.. I started working or removing everything from the rear garden.. What a chore this is going to be!!
The good news in all of this is, most of plants going into the rear garden are coming from other parts in the yard that went from deep shade to full sun when we had some severe storms and lost all our big trees out front. So I'll be moving 30 - 40 ferns for the general garden bed, then lots of pachysandra to go next to the foundation. Then I'll lift the self contained pond 6-12" and we should be good to go!
Last night some kids started a fire in the forest preserve near us and the grass caught on fire and off it went. Glad they were able to get it under control fast!! Otherwise, it could have caught everyone's dry grass on fire....
As for the weather, it was nice here this afternoon. Then around 3 pm it started to rain, and has been raining since! It's been in the 60's today, however, Monday it's suppose to get cooler and SNOW Monday night!
............... BUMMER ........
So, all my plants are in the garage, waiting for warmer weather!!!!
The creek is a flowing.. So I can drop the pump in so I can water the gardens this yr. Horay!!!!
Cheers! - AL
Hi Chief! Today was a fantastic warm and windy day. I had today off, we went to Home Depot and bought a new front door. We worked in the front yard and put down some new black mulch. Looks great! Just have to work in the backyard and lay down the rest of the mulch. So tempted to buy flowers today...I know that it is still going to be cold here. Best to wait till mid May. It is currently 76 at almost 7 PM. The weather is sure going to change in the next 48 hours. Going to be COLD on Tuesday. Tomorrow is my day off, will be around 68 degrees...fairly warm day ahead with rain and maybe a thundershower.
Have a nice evening and a great week...Al, Sailspinner and Chief!
Sorry I have not posted much. Yes...It sure was a challenging Winter...Thank God it is over!!
It is like a SUMMER DAY IN OHIO! LOVING IT!!!!
My daffodils are sprouting up and I see my hyacinth I planted last year survived the very harsh Winter. Trees are just starting to bud.
Things have been hetic to say the least!
Although today will hit 60(?) we may see snow furries on Monday!!!!

Very quiet here lately. Is everyone ok or just worn out from a very challenging winter?
Spring is beautiful here in GA. The woods is full of dogwood, azaleas are blooming, and it's wonderful to work outside in the yard. We had torrential rain last week that prompted seeds to sprout so things are getting interesting.
OK, OK, OK
You don't have to rub it in.....
LOL !!!!
It's raining in GA - but we don't have to shovel rain.
Good Morning!
It's 32 Degrees and
SNOWING!!!!!
