The last of the storms moved through this morning with more rain and some strong winds. We were in the "moderate risk" area for tornado warnings but never had anything more than wind & rain. Neighbors lost a couple of trees but we are heavily wooded here so that doesn't matter a bit. No damage anywhere near here. Hope the rest of you did as well. I thought about you, especially, Chief, out in MO.
Rain has finally arrived here, bit on the cool side. Nice to see everything is greening up. One of my customers told me that we are 20 days behind in the growing season. Can't wait to plant the vegetables. Good luck on your garden veggies...hope you will get some rain soon.
Good to hear from you Shelly and glad spring finally found Ohio. We're looking at rain this afternoon (if I blow hard enough can I send some to you?lol) so yesterday I planted potatoes, peppers, some herbs the winter killed, and put cages around the tomatoes. Bring on the rain. Enjoy the spring.
Good Morning friends!
I am happy to report that (SPRING IS HERE IN OHIO)
Hope everyone has a nice Easter...and did not eat too many jellybeans...LOL!!!
Has been a bit hetic here, I have been busy helping her when I am not working. Today would be a great day to plant some flowers. It is is in the mid 50's here with sun. The only thing is I have to work today from 12-8...so there goes another beautiful day spent indoors working :( Sooner or later I will be able to get out there and start digging in the dirt...which I love to do! Has been dry here. Not much rain yet.
Have a great day everyone!
Sounds as though spring has found the midwest. After Shelley reports in we'll know for sure. We had a terrific weekend - I love this time of year, after the cold & before the humidity. Going to plant potatoes today. Rain expected tomorrow (must be coming from you, Chief).
Today I'm going to the feed store to pick up some herbs the winter killed. I may be like Al & buy too much. Who can resist all those sweet plants waiting for a home? Almost like puppies. Everyone enjoy!
Hi Chief!
Today is the 1st FULL nice day! Overnight temps were in the mid 40's and today was in the high 70's!!! Looks like the cold weather is behind us!
Skipped Easter service this yr. as it was to hard to do without my Sole Mate! However....... I was at the garden center at 6 AM and brought to much home... LOL! Couldn't have purchased any more, as the Jeep was full. Lots of hanging baskets, a beautiful large Blue Hydrangea bush, (now I have to find a place for it!!) and numerous flats of Asters, Panseys, Petunias, etc...
Come On Rain!!!! (My plants need it, and if we have Thunder / lightning, I don't have to work!!!)
Sore, Tired, but Having Fun!!
AL
Can not believe it snowed. UGH!!!! We have had temps in the 70's for a few days. Shock to the system to have it in the low 30's. Now has this cold snap hurt all the trees and flowers?
April Showers Brings May Flowers I hope!!!
It should go back into the 50''s for late week. I am hoping for that too!! LOL
Yup,
I can remember as a kid, they use to sat "April showers Bring May Flowers"
They didn't say it was going to be FROZEN - LOL
In the grand scheme of things, we are looking at some warm rain later on this week. So hopefully, all the plants will be happy!!!
AL
Al, Just above this comment space is your post of Feb. 6, 2013 saying "Need Snow - NOW!!!" Maybe it's time to change that or you'll get blames for this past winter, at least in IL. Hmmmm. I've always said thought is energy.
Very hard rain beginning yesterday afternoon & forecast to continue most of today. April showers - good for my garden.
