Hi Gang!
I had a large grouping of surprise lilies so I split them up Last spring. Some came up, other didn't. But with the drought, I understand that could happen. So i'm looking forward to see what survived lat yrs moves, and tolerated the drought we had!
Tomorrow is going to be a warm day, so I hope to walk the yard and see what is peaking out thru the mulch!!
AL
This is neat, finding out about the Lilies. Yes, Chief it is amazing to see flowers bloom. I love seeing the green poke up out of the ground. What color is your Lily? Mine Lilies are orange. Glad to see that you enjoy flowers. That is neat.
Sailspinner, how nice to hear you are having a sunny day! WOW you are having warm temps...I am envious. LOL Enjoy the warm weekend, I can not wait to get out and start working in the yard...if it every warms up here?
We have a spider lily that doesn't bloom until fall - same idea of a single stalk, a bloom, then foliage.
Sunny here. Started out below freezing but is 59 now & very comfortable if you stay out of the wind. By the weekend we'll be in the low 70s. Yay, more yard time.
Interesting information, chief. I just learned something new. The lilies should be flowering in late June. Today has been a sunny morning, then cloudy early to mid afternoon and now is bright and sunny and 45 at 5 PM. Still feels cold today, even though we are a bit warmer than yesterday.
The Groundhog is so cute, I have a hard time being mad at him and promising us a early Spring. Oh well, what are you going to do? Just deal with it, I guess!
I forget when my Lilies come up? Been so long since I saw them in bloom! LOL I want to say they come up in June.
Have a nice evening everyone!
Chief,
My Surprise Lily don't pop there heads up till like mid to late may! But that may be because I'm much farther north than you! - AL
I did hear there's an arrest warrant out for the groundhog. Does that make anyone feel better?
Sailspinner, your not alone, had one of my tarps off my wood pile take off last week. Took me a few days of looking to locate it!!
Well it's Tuesday, and we are having a "Heat Wave", it's 37 degrees and sunny, but we have a brisk cold wind!
Chilly in N IL - AL
Ok, everyone can stop being envious of my spring weather. This morning we got up to 30 degrees and it's only 48 now - and windy. Cloudy too. I wouldn't have gone outside at all but the wind blew the tarp off the pontoon boat and I was afraid it (the tarp) would end up in the next county. At least the hike up the hill got my blood going and I'm no longer cold. lol
It is 43 and overcast skies. Looks like it could rain?? It is 4 pm on Tue, March 26th.
How is everyone else's weather today???
