High 90s here in GA too. Lots of rain - so much that our dirt road was impassable over the weekend but today the county spread gravel so we can get out tomorrow. By Fri. we'll cool down to high 80s. Guess summer is here. A/c on here too since humidity matches temp.
Hi Chief!
Ya, our weather has been all over the place! Either it's raining.............. OR it's 10 - 15 degrees below normal!
Unless I missed a month, thought it was June. However, the furnace has been kicking on during the nights, and we've even put a few logs in the fireplace!
It's been soooooooooooooooo cold, we haven't even sat out on our deck!! - Bummer!!!!
Shivering here in N IL - AL
We are having cool temps. Has been very breezy lately. Well the sun is now starting to shine. So maybe that will bump up our temps. Has been very nice not having to run the A/C.
Enjoy the day, everyone!
Morning Sailspinner,
All I can say is "Quack, Quack" If it get's any wetter around hear, I'm going to start growing web-feet!
Seriously, we are somewhere around 7 - 9" abouve our normal rain totals for this yr. so far!
Going back a yr. ago, temps were in the 90+ range, and we had a drought going on! In fact it was so bad, our creek had dried up by the 1st wk of june 2012!
What a deference a yr makes!
Had breakfast with some friends, they were about to leave for FL this afternoon. Looks as if they just cancelled their trip! Decided to head west and look at the rocks????
Cheers! - AL
Welcome to hurricane season. That didn't take long, did it. Looks as though FL will get it from both sides. We're far enough inland that we might get a bit of rain but nothing more. Anyone in this group on the east coast? If so, pay attention and stay safe.
Morning Sailspinner............
Know about ATT and their DSL service! Have had more problems in the past 18-24 months, than the last 20+ yrs.
Daughter and son-in-law are moving in to save some $$$ while they finish their college. They will be installing cable, so will be moving to cable. We'll see if that is any better than ATT!
All I can say, is our weather leaves a lot to be desired! A yr ago we were in the 90+ every day, our creek had run dry, and everything was burning up! Now we are running well below normal. Some days are down right cold and damp, but the plants seem to like that!
As for the Garden Centers, their sales are way behind where they have been for the past several yrs. Most of the GC still have bedding plants still available, and people are slowly purchasing Bonnie vegetables to plant. But everyone is waiting for it to get warm!!
Would you believe I put a log on the fire this morning!!!
Cheers! - AL
Hope everyone is safe after this latest outbreak of horrific weather. We've been hot and dry in GA. Maybe rain tomorrow but no severe storms in the forecast - knock wood.
We've had perfect weather the past several days. The kids were here for a long weekend and my garden is thriving. I'm watering now because we haven't had rain for several days and, with the sun so hot, plants wilt quickly.
I spent more than 1/2 hour on the phone with tech services today because my internet connection didn't come back on after ATT was down overnight but I'm back on now & catching up. Life is good.
We had a very RAINY and COLD Memorial Day. Feel bad for all the people that had plans for outdoor parties. We had about 1 inch of rain. Just poured down rain, it is in the upper 60's. Today we have more showers and T-Storms. They are saying we could have some rotation with the T-Storms. Will be around 80 today. Sailspinner, I found your email in my purse so I will send you a Msg.
Have a great day everyone!
Morning Chief!
Yes it's been wet for the past week! I feel like a duck, Quack, Quack!
Isn't going to be much better for this week! The grass is so happy, I'm having to cut it every 3-4 days..... Glad I have a riding tractor - LOL!
Hope to be able to get out and do some work in the yard this week!!!
Cheers!- AL
