Coping? Doing outside work early or late in the day and staying inside from about 10 am until 4. I read this morning that the heat wave is reversing track and moving back - west - across the country so we'll get a repeat.
Yesterday we had just a few sprinkles of rain but every afternoon has the possibility of scattered thundershowers. The hot, dry weather is good for drying out soggy, mildewy stuff so I'm hoping for a repeat of yesterday.
Morning Gang!
All I can say is it's Hot, Hot, Hot!
Looks like most of our Buds must be hiding inside and staying out of the severe heat!
How is everyone coping with the oppressive heat these days????

Hi Sailspinner! Hope you have had a cool day. Sounded like you had some storms move through your neighborhood. We had some storms in the Sandusky area, but no rain or storms for us.
Hi Chief! Hope you are staying cool too! Sounds like your area is real dry, hope you can get some rain soon.
Hi GrandPaGardener! Are you staying cool these days? We had a heat index of 103 today! UGH! Take it easy and have a good night!
I spoke too soon. Thunder approaching as we speak. Oh well. It was nice while it lasted.
Two dry days in a row! It's hot - but then it's always hot in GA in July so . . . The a/c is working and yard work gets done early and late in the day. More rain is forecast for next week so I made another trip to town and discovered on the way that the county is grading our road. Is this a good day or what? Hope everyone is doing well. Can you believe it's only 6 weeks until Labor Day? Already!
Morning Gang!
It looks like we are going to have another scorcher today! Our norm for this time of yr is 84, well today it's expected to be 94 degrees or higher!!!!
Seashelly, and Sailspinner try and stay cool!!! Looks like your going to have one hot day! I've been outside already, and I'm in for the day!
Cheers! - AL
Nice to see you here Phil, Welcome to the group! Will be nice to see what the weather is like out in Reno, Nevada. Hope you can stay cool and comfortable this week.
Hi everybody!! We are having the heat wave too in Ohio. It is 88 allready with the heat index of 93...it is cloudy and kind of looking like rain? We still have very green grass, the garden is doing well. Still trying to keep the weeds pulled, never ending job...I am not complaining though. I like to work in the garden,it is very therapeutic.
We had another sinkhole, due to a water main break and the sewer cave in. Not nearly as bad as the major sinkhole that made CNN news, that happened a couple of weeks ago. Did anyone hear about it? The lady was thankfully not hurt, just shook up. Sailspinner, I hope you stop getting all the rain. Your pontoon boat sounds nice. Hope you can get it fixed and take it out soon.
Chief, you are right about Summer going fast. I think time has to slow down.
I want Summer to last, however the locusts are starting to sing here.
Road collapse might not be bad, Al. Our road flooded twice in one summer, trapping weekenders here so they couldn't get to work. The county put in a new culvert very quickly after that. It was a series of messy events - both the flooding and the road work - but the problem was solved.
If you can figure out how to draw my rain to IL, I'm more than willing to share. lol. Be warned that I'll send the mold too. It grows very quickly. Major "infections" on the pontoon boat but it will have to wait for dry weather. Providing we can find our way to the lake through the high grass. lol
Morning Sailspinner!
I'll trade you some dry weather for some rain! - LOL
Ya, we're 1/2 way thru July, where has this yr gone........... If we're not careful, we'll be talking about snow next! LOL!!!! Going to be a l o n g hot day!!
We also have some road issues, where the township is suppose to replace a LARGE 80 ft long culvert under the road, plus address some drainage issues! As the creek is still flowing.............. I don't expect to see this happening this yr. HOWEVER, if we have another Road Collapse, that may change things!
