Morning Gang!
Would you believe it's been a pleasant 69 degrees overnight! All the windows are still open, and the birds are chirping away! Guess they like this weather also!
As for today, well, it's headed up to 90 degrees, so I'm out in the garden early, the sprinkler is going, will let it run till around 8 - 9 AM, then it's hibernate till tomorrow!!!
Hope everyone is doing well this Monday!
Cheers! - AL
Evening Sailspinner, Seashelly!
Well gang, as normal, the storm came roaring into IL Friday, and made a left hand turn and went north into WI & MN and they got all the Wind, Rain and Hail! All we received was a few minutes of downpour, and then it was gone. Almost as though someone turned off a light switch!!!!
Weather as of late has been pleasant, 80's during the day, and low 70's at night. All the forecasts for rain never materialized, so we're pumping out of the creek as I type away!!!
Sailspinner, I know what you mean! We've had a lot of thunder and cloud-to-cloud lightning in the past several days............ But no rain! Bummer. Hope you get some rain soon!!
Seashelly, We also have a Locus tree, and those little twigs just drive me crazzzzy!! Clad to hear that you missed the big stuff!!
So stay cool ladies................. Will check-in after breakfast and see how everyone is doing........... Cheers! - AL
Evening Sailspinner!! So thankful we are safe and sound! Friday night we had lots of thunder and lightening and some strong wind....had a lot of small twigs fall from our locust tree. Other than that, no damage to the house or flowers. Our temp is 77 at 8:30 pm. Have had a relaxing day, hope everyone has a nice evening.
Stay and keep cool, Sailspinner!
Just heard about the tornado in Cleveland. Glad you escaped it. We've had storms all around us for hours - lots of thunder & clouds but no rain so far. Temps pretty standard - 80s with humidity to match.
Evening GrandPaGardener!!
We escaped the tornado in Cleveland. I heard it was a cat 1. I do not remember hearing any storms. So I must have slept sound, from all the work in the garden! With Friday nights heavy rain, it made pulling weeds a bit easier. You should have seen the thistles I pulled, my good God! Today has been so much cooler and less humid...Yaay!!! Thank you for the suggestion on weeding! Appreciate it, Al. Did you get any nasty storms??
Seashelly,
Did you folks escape the nasty weather that went rolling thru OH last night???
Cheers - AL
Evening Seashelly!!
If I'm going to do weeding, I water heavly the night before. Makes it easier for getting the entire weed out!
So my weeding starts around 5:50 - 6 AM, followed by setting up the sprinklers around 7 AM and go to 9 AM.
Then it's hide inside for the rest of the day!
Cheers! - AL
I was out around 4ish and pulled some weeds, it is way to hot. Feels like a furnace. Nothing but hot air blowing. Still sunny and not looking like rain or storms. Al, your flowers sounds nice, I love the smell of lilacs. Hope they do well for ya. I was so happy to get out today, I felt like I was getting cabin-fever. hahaha!
Cheers to everyone - Have a nice Evening and a Happy Weekend!
Hi Sailspinner, Seashelly,
Out early working in the yard at 5:30 AM, worked to 8:30 AM! Watered a few flower beds, and planted a large grouping of French Lilacs, and watered in!
Turned the AC on in the garage at 6 AM, and plan on working on "The Toys" till the evening hours!!
Other than that, I'm staying inside till the snow flys......... - LOL!
AL
How am I coping with the heat? Staying home where it is cool. I worry about the possibility of rolling blackouts. Hope it does not happen. This is our last day of the heatwave. Storms for us later today, we could use some rain in North West OH. Stay cool and comfortable today and have a good one!
