Evening Folks!
All I can say is Burrrrrrrr. Daytime temps are running 12 - 14 degrees below normal, and the overnight temps are in the LOW 50's. One of the neighboring towns was in the 40's. It's almost as if we fast forwarded to September or October!
And another week has gone by without any rain, and none in the foreseeable future! Not Good!!!
So stay warm folks!! - AL
It's hard to imagine you folks up north having such cool weather in mid-August. I always counted on Aug. being the "miserable month" - highest temps and highest humidity. We're having our typical southern summer, although temps today only hit high 80s - by the weekend we'll be low 80s for a "cool" spell. Geez, wonder what fall/winter will be like this year!
After waking up to a chilly 50 degree morning, it is now 72 and very nice out at almost 4 pm. Pulled some more tomatoes out of the garden. Still waiting on the red peppers to grow. Glad to hear Bruce, that the cold front has brought ya some cooler temps. Enjoy it while you can. I heard Friday through the weekend is going to be more like Summer, temps in the low 80's!!!!!
I am a Summer person for sure! I like the heat and humidity. I do love the Fall Season, and seeing all the leaves change color. It seems like every year Winter comes, the more I dislike the season. Allthough we have not really had a bad Winter in about 3 years now, so we have been real lucky in NW Ohio. It is only going to be a high of 73 today. We had storms move through overnight, with some heavy downpours. I do not remember an August being this cool and damp??? Hoping for warmer days to come...
Hi Bruce, I will send down some of our cool temps to ya, hope you are stayin' cool today. Feel free to send up some of your 90's to Ohio!!!
Hi GrandPaGardener, not quite as chilly in Toledo. Did you get any bad storms last night or rain?? We sure did, had lots of rain and lightening....someone is going to have fun whenever they decide to cut the grass,LOL!! Hope your having some warm sunshine today!!!!
Well, it's a little chillie outside this AM, like 58 degrees. Rumor has it we may be looking at the 40's overnight in a few days............ Time to start thinking of firewood!
AL
Chief,
Glad to hear that all that bad weather missed you!
Seashelly,
Now we know why you haven't been around for a while! Glad to see your back home!!
Sailspinner,
I can understand needing some rain as it hadn't rained down there for over a month. I just hope you don't float away!!!!
Cheers!

We're having a downpour as I write and more rain expected the rest of the week. We needed the rain since most of the rain cells have missed us the past 3-4 weeks. Temps in the 90s every day now and muggy to boot. Good excuse to stay inside and read.
I spent the past 3 days in the Sanford area of Michigan. Very rural and country area, at night it was a bit chilly lows were in the upper 50's. The sky was so clear, was great star gazing and I saw a few shooting stars, so cool! Today started out with heavy rain showers this morning, now is 81 and sunny with some humidity at 6:15 pm. Good to be home now. Have a nice evening!
Hey Chief, how close are you to the heavy rains that have been going on in KS, and OK? Sure hope you don't float away!!
As for us it's a nippy 60 degrees this AM!
Cheers! - AL
Morning Gang!
Yes, it has been an unusual summer to say the least!
Weare back to running a few days below normal almost every day, and overnight temps are even lower!!!!
Our plants are happy for the most part, but lack rain as we haven't seen any in 3-4 wks!!
As it's such a nice day, it's time to kick back and enjoy the day! However, i'm sure someone will find something for me to do!! LOL!
