Hi Gang!
Yup, it's HOT outside!
Chief, we're not going to get quite as hot as you, but we,re looking at the mid 90's for most of this week. And of course, no rain is in sight! One of our neighbors is out of water, and the well drilling rig is drilling away! Not Fun...
Seashelly, sorry, don't like the hot weather. Would be happy to go right to right to fall or even SNOW would be OK!
Sailspinner, The farmers have the same issue with our crops up here. Too much rain for too long, and the crops are gone..... Hope things improve for you folks!!
AL
Today we got up to temps in the 50s; highs were low 80s. Seems more like Sept. than Aug. so makes me wonder what fall will be like. Wonder if this portends an early winter or maybe an especially cold one.
SC has declared the entire state an emergency because they've havd so much rain crops are rotting. GA too expects huge losses to peach & pecan crops. I heard there's an old farmer's saying that drought will hurt you but too much rain will kill you. Poor farmers this year! It's been a weird one.
I am liking the heatwave, my hubby not so much since he works out in the heat. He will be happy when the cooler Fall Time weather gets here. It is around 86 at 4:15 PM. Lots of sun today, grass is starting to get that brownish color. I am not quite ready for Autumn, the Summer season is too short...in my opinion. Our mini heatwave will last till Wednesday, hey Chief...I hope you do not melt away. I hope you have a/c to keep cool in!
That's is a lot of HAIL to get. Strange weather going on everywhere! Thankful that we are having decent weather here.
Just heard from my friend in CO and she says yesterday they had 1.75" hail and it was so thick the county got out snow removal equipment. Her road in to Colorado Springs is often closed because of flooding and/or mudslides. Guess our weather could be worse.
Morning GrandPaGardener! We only had .05' of rain, it seemed like we should have had more than that, cuz it rained real hard for about an hour. Our weekend is going to be real nice!! Low 80's for Sat. and upper 80's for Sun!! Into next week we will have some 90's. T-Storms for Thursday. Nice to hear Sailspinner your having a dry and sunny day...gives you a chance to dry out and get your laundry dried.
GrandPaGardener, I hope you can take the top off the red sportscar. Have fun......I miss my 87' Nissan Pulsar, it had t-tops.....and I just loved driving around with the tops off. That is the car where the engine blew up...LOL!
I am going to the German American Festival this weekend, So thankful that the weather is going to be dry and sunny.
Enjoy the weekend, everyone! Cheers!!!!!
Morning Sailspinner!
Glad to here that your able to get the laundry outside..... I love it when were able to do that. As I love the smell of it!
AL
We've had 2 days without rain and last night the solar lights along the stairs were still on at 10 p.m.! Looks like I can hang laundry out today - if I get at it now. It's 80 now & the sun is shining.
Morning Seashelly,
Looks like OH may have got the rest of the rain we had yesterday.......
Now it looks like the next few days will be in the 80's, then it will be off into the 90's for the rest of the week, with little chance of rain!
Looks like we may take out the Red car and take a drive somewhere this weekend! If the weather is cool, may even take the top off! Will have to wait till the fall to take the Black one out when it's COOL outside.... LOL!
Hope you get a chance to get out and enjoy the weekend!
Cheers! - AL
Hi Al, Happy to hear you did get more RAIN! At least you got some, I feel so very bad, for the people out West having the wildfires and smoke. My prayers are with them, hoping they will get much needed RAIN and relief. I am a nature person and love trees, it is so sad to see the forests burning.
As for my area in Ohio.....we are getting RAIN at 6 pm. Wish we could bottle this up and send it out West. Temps are around 80.
