Hello Sailspinner,
Glad to hear from you!
Our weather has been in the toilet! Every week 3-4 days will be 10-15 degrees below the norms, then throw in some scattered rain. Would you believe we have already received 1/2" of the white stuff already!
Looks like next week will be the same!
On the home front, the wife starts cemo / radiation next week, and will run thru December. So we are looking forward to next yr!
Cheers!

Good morning, all. After weeks of perfect fall weather, last night our temp hit 29 & the high today should be around 53. Brrrr. We'll have a slow (very slow) warming trend over the next week & rain on Monday. I shouldn't complain because friends in CO & MI tell me they've had snow so . . . Still, these southern bones feel cold more than they used to.
Our son showed up yesterday to repair rotten facia board but couldn't complete the job yesterday when temp was mild. After a trip to town today for more supplies, he'll spend a cold day on the roof. Poor kid, poor me - I'll be steadying the ladder for him.
Hope things are ok in your part of the world. Happy fall.
Morning Sailspinner!
Our temps have been on the rise as of late. Daytime temps have been in the low 50's with an occasional 60 thrown it. Overnight has been above normal, with temps typically in the 40's! To bad we had so many killer freezers earlier this fall!

It's 60 degrees at 9:30 a.m. We've had two weeks of glorious fall weather. Leaves are dropping and the dogwoods in the woods are beautiful. Rain coming in tonight & all day tomorrow & we can use the moisture to get my fall garden going. Can't believe tomorrow is Nov. Where has the year gone?
Happy Halloween. We don't get trick or treaters in the boondocks - but that's ok too.
Quack, Quack, Quack
Well, it's been raining all night long. So far we,ve received a little over an inch of rain with more on the way! Looks like Halloween will be rainy, if not rained out! Only time will tell.
So I'll have a few days off from painting trim!! With the weather being good Sat, Sun I should be able to finish it off! Horay!!
No it's time to think about renting the log splitter, and taking on the firewood project!! Should help my waistline............... LOL
Hope everyone has a good Halloween weekend!

With the numerous overnight below freezing temps our color's have turned earlier than normal. Our trees colors turned probably 4 - 5 wks ago

After threats of a freeze Sat. night, I picked the last of the tomatoes - then it didn't freeze and I have green tomatoes sitting around. Not big enough to fry but maybe they will ripen. We had several days of highs around 60/nights 30s & 40s but now expect days in the 70s & nights in the 50s this week. We still don't have much color in the leaves and lots still on the trees but hickory nuts are abundant on the ground.
Happy Monday.
Burrrrrr.
It might only be 29 degrees overnight, but we might see 50 degrees most of the week! Horay, as I'm still trying to get trim painted - LOL!!! However, we are expecting heavy rain Wed / Thrs this week. With my luck we will actuall get the rain!
Cheers! - AL
Chilly and Sunny morning here in Ohio, only 34 frosty degrees. Have had frost overnigt. I heard that we are suppose to have above precip and below normal temps for the next 3 months. Tonight it is going down to 30 with sprinkles and flurries. Hoping I do not have to scrape my windows after work.
I agree with you Chief, I am noticing as I get older I am disliking the COLD temps!!
We are at peak color right now, the trees look so pretty! Now with the freezing temps the leaves are really going to start falling. Happy raking of the leaves,LOL. Enjoy your day friends!
We've had perfect fall weather the past weeks. High temps in high 70s/low 80s, nights in the high 50s/60s. No rain in the forecast until next Sat. so it has been wonderful weather to clean up the garden, walk in the woods, fish. What's going on in your part of the world?
