We may hit 80 today with rain coming in for tomorrow & Mon. Several days ago we finished our shopping for the next two weeks so are ok on that front but have you ever tried to get a plumber the weekend before Christmas? Called early this morning & left a message but no call back yet. Does not bode well. We have a second bathroom so the repair isn't urgent but our road will be a quagmire if he can't come today. We could attempt the repair ourselves (I think it needs a new fill aparatus in the toilet tank but it might be a blocked intake hose) but we have a screwy type of pipe they used in older mobile homes and are afraid we'd get into more trouble if we tried it. Our son (the landlord) is two hours away and has a new grandbaby he's getting to know so we don't want to call him. This too shall pass (I keep telling myself.)
Oh yes, Merry Christmas (and healthy plumbing) to all.
Morning Gang!
Well it looks like our weather for the next several days in four words! Rain, Sleet, Snow, and Wind! Was out at 6AM putting down more salt on the hill!
This will have a BIG impact on package deliveries........... Our UPS driver is normally here around 3-4 PM, last night he was after 7 PM. We have a package for the grands kids coming in UPS from MI. Was shipped on the 17th, was to be 2 day delivery. Checking daily status show still in route! I Think Santa May be in trouble!!! - LOL
Went out last night for a few more staples just in case our weather get bad. So we are good till after Christmas!
So how is everyone doing in their neck of the woods???
Cheers! - AL
Merry Christmas Chief!
5 AM this AM I was out putting salt on our driveway on the hill, 75 lbs later, I could walk on the driveway. Stopped in town this afternoon, and picked up another 400 Lbs. Looks like it's going to be a L O N G cold winter!!
Sounds like our weather! Regardless of what the weather forecasters have predicted, it never happened!
The next five days will consist of rain, freezing rain, sleet, and snow! Now the only problem is we're not sure where or when!
We purchased milk, bread, gas, etc.... So we are ready for the next 5 days!
Now the 64,000 question is, will they toys make it here for the grand kids in time for Christmas???
Cheers! - AL
Glad to hear that your weather is under control, and it sounds like you don't have to do anything before Christmas - LOL!!!!! We only have the grand kids a couple days this week. Next week school is closed, so we will not see them except for Christmas.
Most of our shopping this yr has been done, either gift cards, or items purchased on-line due to medical issues this yr. And all the items are suppose to be here by this Saturday! Hope that 2014 is going to be a better yr!
Cheers, and Merry Christmas to you and your family!

We've dried out after all the rain last week and the sun is shining - before more rain next weekend. Temps in the 60s. We made our last trip to town before Xmas so can hunker down regardless of weather. Boy am I glad we don't live north anymore. Sounds like you guys are really getting snow this winter. Good luck.
And Merry Christmas.
Morning Gang!
Well, it looks as if this week is going to be a mixed bag! Several days into the 40's if you can believe that, then we might get buried with lots of the white stuff if you believe that!! - LOL
Our weather models indicate that a system will be moving into IL on Sunday at 1200 hrs with a wide band of snow extending all the way up from the south will bring snow with it pushing the mixed precip south into Indiana snow totals are as of now are showing northern and south side Chicago may see any where from 12-15 inches of snow when all said and done if models hold up this storm is still over 48 hrs away from Chicago so models could change and snow totals drop or stay the same will monitor and report any changes in the next 48 hrs....
Gee, better get on with splitting my wood!!! - LOL!
Hope everyone else has a better weather forecast going for them!!
AL
We're at 60 degrees but very hard rain most of the day. Glad I don't have to go anyplace for a few days so the road can dry out. It was in bad shape when I was out on Wed. - lots of pot holes & ruts with a few muddy sections thrown in for good measure. We need the rain and it's not freezing so I'm not complaining either.
Hi Chief!
Amazing......................
Our weather is going to be in the 20's to low 30's. May even see some rain by next Fri / sat! But who knows................... LOL!
AL
Morning Gang!
All I can say is they lied!!! Our wonderful weather folks predicted we would only receive around an inch of snow, and the worst stuff would be going south of us! Ya, Right!
Slept in this AM only to find 2+ inches of the white fluff stuff already on the ground, with large fluffy flakes coming down as I type away! So it's time to go shovel some snow!
Hey, Chief, how much snow did you get?
AL
Wow, Al! That's cold even for your area - makes me very glad we live in the south. We're at 40 degrees at 10 a.m. today but the sun is shining so we may even his the 50s.
