Chief, glad to hear you didn't get buried to bad!!! Only 2-3" on the ground. Boy, would love to change places with you! We have over 3 ft on the ground!!!
Sailspinner, I think you need to purchase one of those ole jeeps that have been converted for off-roading. The kids love to get them all full of mud. It's like a Badge of Courage.... You could have one of the meanest looking Jeep around!!
As for us, it's around 25 degrees out, and the sun is out in all it's glory. The plows are still playing catchup so they can be ready for the next storm! Hope the sun warms up the driveway, so some of the ice and snow will melt away.
Now we are waiting for the next snow storm! - LOL!!!
AL
My son near Indianapolis wrote last night that they were expecting 6-10" of white stuff & so far it was falling at the rate of 1 1/2" per hour. Maybe Chief did get buried.
Rained again this morning. I noticed last evening when a neighbor pulled into her driveway that she had mud splashed almost to the windows of her car. Glad I decided to stay home. Borrowed some laundry detergent from our son's house down the drive so we're good for another couple of weeks if need be. Sunny now & 59.
Morning Sailspinner......
Sorry to hear about your muck roads............Sounds like it's time to stay home and watch the birds at the feeders!
Well, our snow is over for now. Got somewhere around 5" and it's still coming down lightly.. Took over 2 hrs with the snow blower this am to cleat the drive and sidewalk. The good news was it wasn't that cold out and there wasn't any wind. So it made the snow removal a breeze!
Don't know about the local schools, they are reported as being closed. However, I haven't seen any buses going by, nor any bus tracks on the road. So who knows!!
I'm worried about Chief, as it sounds like his little piece of the world got buried with snow and ice. Hope he's OK!
I was able to get out earlier this week to Farm & Fleet and picked up 400 lbs of salt for the driveway. So, I'm ready for Mother Nature. Time for another log on the fire!!
So stay warm folks!
AL
You won't hear any complaints from me about all of our rain. We don't have to shovel it. Guess I'll put off my planned trip to town for tomorrow since our road will be mucky again. Not out of anything but laundry detergent & I can borrow enough of that for a while. Hunker down, guys. The groundhog says another 6 weeks of winter and what a winter this has been so far.
WoW!
Looks like we are going to be on the edge of the storm. May only see 2-4" - Horay!!!
AL
Here we go again!
Hey, Chief, How is the storm doing out your way????
AL
LOL - Understand the road conditions - That's what we get for living on the edge!
AL
You got your snow, Grandpa, but it looks like our rain didn't make it. Not yet, anyway, and none shows on radar. That's ok because rain is forecast for every day next week save Sun. & Thurs. There goes our road again and the county just got it back in shape. Oh well. The cost of living where we love it.
Looks like the snow is passed.... Looks like we received around 6" or snow. Townships, Towns, Counties, and the State plows have been out in force. Roads are still snow covered, but passable. But one has to be careful and pay attention while your driving...
Now it's time to put another log on the fire!
AL
Morning Folks!
Well, it's snowing........... Here in N IL we have around 3" on the ground, no big deal! With another 3-6" on the way during the next 12 hrs. or so. People are out and about, just moving slower.
Looks like the worst of it is south of us!!!
Time for another cup of coffee before firing up the snow blower!
Cheers! - AL
