Wishing Al, a very "Happy Birthday"!!!!!!!
So looking for Spring's Arrival, the cold temps are really getting to me. Today is sunny...but cold. Hey, we have a real warm up coming next week, 40 degrees!!!
Sailspinner,
Would you believe 34 days and counting.............. Not that I'm in a rush for "Spring" - LOL
Rain began last evening and our temps will stay above freezing until tonight. Then . . . who knows. Atlanta is looking for snow, Macon to Atlanta ice. Fingers crossed the power doesn't go out but if ice gets very heavy on lines/trees . . . How many days until spring? I'm ready!
Morning Sailspinner,
WoW, your weather looks nasty on NOHAA radar! Looks like you folks need to stay inside today, and wait the weather out!
Here in N IL we're at -20 degrees, with a WC of -35 degrees outside! The grand kids are due here at 7 AM so it will be a day to stay inside!
Haven't heard from Chief, must be stuck in a snow drift!! - LOL!
AL
Sailspinner, glad to hear that your weather has improved...
Well, we are at 0 degrees tonight with WC at -25 degrees, with snow expected on wed.
Great weather as we have Drs Appts Thrs, So I guess I need to find a tank to get us there!! - LOL
AL
We had an absoltely gorgeous weekend. Our son even spent a couple of hours out on the lake fishing. The road is dry so I made a run in to town today ahead of the next storm coming tomorrow. Fingers crossed the ice doesn't get down as far as we are. I'm always surprised at the difference 50 miles makes in the kind of weather we get. Very cloudy today but temp is 57. We're well provisioned now - just in case it's another month before I get to town.
Watch out Sailspinner, You have some nasty stuff comming your way!!
We're running WC this AM of 20 - 30 below...... It's going to be a long day!
Stay warm! - AL
WoW! What a difference a week makes! I learned yrs. ago, you can't mess with Mother Nature!
The big problem GA has is they don't have enough snow plows and salt trucks!!! The problem will continue to happen in future yrs. unless they address that issue! The biggest problem you have is your rolling hills. That's a killer when you have frozen ice on the roads....
So I hope the sun comes out, and everything melts away!!

Everyone knows what happened in Atlanta a week ago. Yesterday the weather service warned of another storm so warnings went up on all the traffic signs over the interstate, the tv was full of warnings too. Got it? A little rain - maybe some light snow. Light dusting was the prediction last week & you know what they got. Granted, it is below freezing up there today but . . . a bit of over reaction? What a job weathermen have. Doesn't matter what they predict - Mother Nature always wins.
Sunny and right at freezing at 8 a.m. I can deal with almost anything if the sun shines.
Morning Gang!
Well, all I can say it's another day of the SOS!
I'm really getting tire of this weather. It's -10 outside, with a WC of -25 with a wind chill warning in effect. The weekend will be more of the same!
Today the temps will be going up to 10 degrees, with more snow tonight / tomorrow (storm #1) with between 1-3" (Storm #2) is going SOUTH and will miss us! Horay! However, it's probably heading Sailspinner way with more rain/snow! Had Storm #2 stayed up north, we would have been looking at another 6-8" of snow!
Now to put that in perspective, we are approaching 5 Ft. for the winter. Another couple of storms, and we may reach 6 ft of snow before winter is over. That's 72", I'm running out of places to put it!
And it's only 40 days till Spring! - LOL It's going to take months for all this stuff to melt!
Cheers! - AL
