Happy to hear from you Sailspinner. Glad your power is back on. Nice that your having some 60 degree weather in GA.
Good luck GrandPaGardener with all the snow coming.
Our snow is suppose to be 3-5" not 2-4" now. However heavy snow this evening...oh great! Drive in will be easy...drive home will be a bit slow going and slick. Safe travels to you GrandPa if you have to drive and everyone else that is getting bad weather.
GrandPa, that's exactly why we don't live in Indiana anymore. Good luck. Hope it doesn't get too bad. Think spring!
Sailspinner,
Glad to hear that everything worked out OK in the end! Since we hadn't heard from you in a while, I assumed you were having weather relate problems.... LOL
As for us, the weatkers folks are still guessing what is going to happen to us. Several days ago we were suppose to get 1-3" of the white stuff. Then it changed to 2-4", yesterday it was upped to 4-6" with heavy winds.
Now this morning, as I walked into the hospital they announced a Code BLACK weather warning. Looks like we may see as much as 10" in the next 24 Hrs. with lots of blowing and drifting snow!
Sooooooooooooooooo, you may not hear from me for a while either!
So, stay warm and enjoy your warm weather!! - LOL

Hi gang. A couple of weeks ago I said the sweetest sound was that of water running after the pipes had been frozen. A close second is that of the furnace kicking on after a 4 day power outage. We lost power about 5 a.m. on Wed. & temps were in the 20s at night, 40s daytime until Fri. Thank goodness we camped in earlier years and still have a heater and stove that work on propane. Power was supposed to come on Sat. at 3, then 6, then at 7:42 (notice I know to the minute!) power came on. Internet was up for about 5 min. & went down again to stay off until a couple of hours ago. It will take all afternoon to catch up on the computer.
Temps were low enough we didn't lose any food in fridge or the freezers. We even had ice cubes left when the power came on. Double layers of clothes all week and now the house feels too hot at 70 degrees. My husband said we were having another grand adventure. Maybe he was; I was plain miserable.
Anyway, things are back to normal, no damage done, the sun is shining, it's 66 outside, life is good. Hope everyone else survived as well. And thanks for your concern.
Hi Seashelly!
Ya, I've seen IRT and love it! Have had many similar experiences when I was working out in CO and IH. Even worse here in IL!
We've lived in our house 32 yrs. and it's up on a steep hill. Several week ago, went to take to 2 large garbage carts out to the street. It had sleeted all night, so "The Hill" was sheer ice. I had thrown out salt on the hill, and proceeded to step out on the blacktop. Well, that was a big mistake.
Here I was between the two garbage containers, sliding down the hill holding on to the two containers, like an ice dancer! Slid all the way to the bottom of the hill! Was not a fun ride!!!
In yrs past, if the hill was slick, I'd just walk down thru the flower beds. However, this yr, they are covered with 4-5 Ft high piles of SNOW!!!
The good news was I made it to the street, and didn't fall. However, the garbage trucks didn't make it thru for a couple more days..........
Now, you can stop laughing................

Snowing right now, big ole fat fluffy snowflakes. About the 3 inches on the ground. We have hardly had the snowplow's down our street, like maybe twice is all. GRRR! Have you ever seen the tv show "Ice Road Truckers" that is how I feel when I drive down my street..LOL! Monday looks like 2 to 4 more inches of snow...like we need any more of this freakin' snow. Tomorrow is my late night of working so the drive in and back aught to be real fun...
Mother Nature sure has a firm grip on the Midwest!
Have a great day everyone, stay warm!!
Greetings from the great White Midwest!!
Yup, you guess correctly! Received a couple of inches of the fluffy white stuff last night! The local township must have $$$ to burn, as the plows went by at 1:30 AM and again at 5:10 AM
Mondays forecast has changed from ALL Ice, to 2-5" of the white stuff again! The the temps for friday will be between 40 - 50 degrees, with more snow the following week!
Haven't heard the official totals yet, but we were at 63". Then we had a couple the other day, then 2" last night, and if we get the 5", we could be approaching close to 6 ft of snow for this yr.
Guess it's time to stay inside this week and wash cars.......... LOL!
Seashelly, and how much of this white stuff do you have over in OH?
AL
Good Morning Everyone,
Another cold day here in Ohio. Sun is out, so that is a plus. I think we are around 64" inches of snow so far...We have had the third snowiest record. We are suppose to get about an inch of snow over the weekend. Monday is looking like a mess here. Now I here we hit 50 degrees next Friday, looking forward to the warm up and fianlly getting rid of the ice in the driveway!
Hope Sailspinner is doing ok.
Have a happy Weekend!
Sailspinner,
How are you doing ???
Here in N IL it's starting to warm up. So far we've received 63" of the white stuff. Lucky for us, the last 2 storms have gone south of us, otherwise we would be adding another 12" to our totals. Now we are looking at some possible flooding, with a couple more storms of snow or ice.......
I'm really getting tired of all this stuff. Time to look at going south!!
AL
Hey Sailspinner,
How did you make it thru all that rain and snow?? Are you able to get out of your area??
