I went on facebook for people who graduated from my school in 1969. Good Lawd, those people are old! (Don't know how a thing like that can happen!) Bald, baggy and beer sodden! Not one of them looks the way I remember them. Scarey stuff! Try it?
I haven't even tried to attend any of my high school reunions. I didn't hang around with them back then, so why would I spend a couple of hundred dollars to hang around with them for an evening?
I'm not sure if it was the ages or the fact that so many of them took the "Seattle Grunge" lifestyle so literally. Saw one of the really popular guys who now has a Ben Franklin haircut. Ya know? Shoulder length on the sides and completely bald on top!
I graduated in 1985, and after all this talk I'm beginning to feel like a youngster. I have my 25 year reunion this summer, and I'm looking forward to seeing how much better I look than all my former classmates...I mean, catching up with old friends. Yeah, that's it.
Are we talking high school here? If so I graduated in '65. I went to a reunion about 2 years ago and every body was not only old but the acted old. I left early. Caleb and I had desert at High Point. The people there were much more fun.
I was never partial to horror flicks Mike....lol Like it was yesterday, I remember when my father turned 40 and thinking to myself......"is he ever getting old". Today is one of my daughters 34th B-day.....6 yrs. shy of 40. And it dawned on me again...."is she ever getting old".....lol Let's just be thankful that it never happens to us :)
At my 40th reunion I wouldn't have had to wear my name tag, classmates recognized me from across the room. I was embarrassed that I had to look at most of their name tags when they approached me, thank God my eyesight's good and I didn't have to bend to stare at their tag, I'm sure they saw me looking anyway, some covered their tag up. My 45th is at the end of July. Looking forward to it.
