From an article at the Daily Kos...

After a year of denying the obvious, the American media is finally coming to the conclusion that the supposed Tea Party movement is simply a continuation of the failed 2008 Republican
presidential campaign by other means.  As the data show, the vast
majority Tea Baggers don't merely identify themselves as Republicans,
they vote for the GOP as well.  And as it turns out, the wildest myths
propagated by the Tea Bagger are broadly accepted by the Republican
faithful.  Even in their casual incitements to violence, they are, as Jon
Stewart
aptly put it last year, "confusing tyranny with losing."

Here, then, are the five sure signs that the GOP and the Tea Party are one and the same:

Scary New GOP Poll

NEW YORK – On the heels of health care, a new Harris poll reveals Republican attitudes about Obama: Two-thirds think he's a socialist, 57 percent a Muslim—and 24 percent say "he may be the Antichrist."

To anyone who thinks the end of the health-care vote means a return to civility, wake up.

Obama Derangement Syndrome—pathological hatred of the president posing as patriotism—has infected the Republican Party. Here's new data to prove it:

67 percent of Republicans (and 40 percent of Americans overall) believe that Obama is a socialist.

The belief that Obama is a “domestic enemy” is widely held—a sign of trouble yet to come.

57 percent of Republicans (32 percent overall) believe that Obama is a Muslim 45 percent of Republicans (25 percent overall) agree with the Birthers in their belief that Obama was "not born in the United States and so is not eligible to be president" 38 percent of Republicans (20 percent overall) say that Obama is "doing many of the things that Hitler did" Scariest of all, 24 percent of Republicans (14 percent overall) say that Obama "may be the Antichrist." These numbers all come from a brand-new Harris poll, inspired in part by my new book Wingnuts. It demonstrates the cost of the campaign of fear and hate that has been pumped up in the service of hyper-partisanship over the past 15 months. We are playing with dynamite by demonizing our president and dividing the United States in the process. What might be good for ratings is bad for the country

It seems as though Republicans are continuing their purge of anyone who doesn't "stick to the script." David Frum was just fired from his think tank for the "Waterloo" article he published revealing the losing strategy of the party of No.

Now an article by Erika Lovley from Politico talks about Republican women being a minority of a minority, and the fact that moderates are being purged from the party.

“In the South, women have done very poorly. There are big differences in terms of political culture,” said Debbie Walsh, director of Rutgers University’s Center for American Women and Politics. “Change would mean letting in some voices that have not had a place at the table within the Republican Party. Right now the Democratic agenda is more in sync with women voters.”

According to the center’s analysis of exit-polling data, women backed Democrats Barack Obama and Joe Biden over Republicans John McCain and Sarah Palin 56 percent to 43 percent. Male voters split their votes much more evenly, with 49 percent voting for Obama-Biden and 48 percent choosing McCain-Palin.

Snowe says there’s also a political dimension. As the Republican Party sheds moderates, it also sheds women.

“[We] as a party are saying we’re not supporting Republican moderates. That’s a terrible message to send,” said Snowe, who with her Maine counterpart Susan Collins represents 50 percent of the Republican women in the Senate. “It tells everyone else in America who might have an interest in running as a Republican moderate, they’re going to have to think twice. The messages coming out of the national party are critical. They’ve got to be embracive and inclusive of political diversity. They can’t on one hand say we’re going to build a majority and then say we only want people with certain characteristics, like white males from the South. That’s a concern to me.”

Whiter, more southern, more reactionary, single issue voters, and strongly driven by (formerly hidden) racial politics. That seems to be a picture of the party at the moment. Not surprising, since they are being driven by Fox.
Those mean republicans:
They love dirty water.
They kill old people.
They make old people eat dog food.
They say no all the time.
They start wars for no reason.
They hate minorities.
They wanted to build a fence to keep the illegal’s out.
They asked the people to leave New Orleans before the storm hit. Then when they didn’t leave, the republicans breached the levy.
They warned people about the pending housing crash.
They blew up the towers on 9/11.
They told people to take responsibility for their own actions.
They told people to be responsible for their own retirement planning.
