I listen to NPR every work day.  There was a discussion recently about the number of those who disapprove of the current Health Care Measure in Congress.  They tossed around a 70% disapproval number....70% of the people disapprove of Health Care Reform as it now stands.

Hold the phone, one of the commentators said.  Break down those numbers.  The GOOP is happy to point  out that 70% of the American Public oppose Health Care Reform.  The commentator said that only 25% of those are actually OPPOSED to Health Care Reform of any sort.  The others....those that remain...are angry because the current proposals don't go far enough!

I like your term GOOP. I'd like to see that acronym come true. “The Grand Old OUSTED Party”. Heh, heh, heh.
Good point! They want the public option and more.
Which brings us back to the original question, how do we pay for it?
No one wants to hear this, but I am in favor of backing the truck up, and restarting, and perhaps doing this incrementally. Anyone else feel the same way?
I do Bruj. And perhaps adding some items in there like tort reform to truly lower the cost of medical care. Like so many of the things this administration has done, as it stands, its payback time to the large donors, rather than to the constituents, specifically in this case the trial lawyers assn.
Increamental is another way of saying, kill the bill. Because one can not work without the other. Many people don't follow politics as many of us here, so a catch phrase like "Socialist, govenment take over, Obama care and Monsterous bills " sounds negative, but when asked on specifics the pecentage of regular hard working "not the bigots" agree with the contents of the bill. But as I see it eveyday in my parts of the country, many who live in slams and live of one or another forms of government help receipents oppose not on principle but out of ignorance and hate propogandas out of the radio and Fuax tabloid hate shows.
