GARAGE SALES

I LOVE garage sales...and fleamarkets...and thrift stores...I collect old kitchen stuff...I like the things from the 1930's to the 1950's...I like cookstoves from the 40's...and I collect antique dishes and also sewing patterns from the 1930's to the 1950's...mostly apron patterns...but I do like clothes patterns from the 1940's...I love that style! And I like the material from back then...like the curtains with the tropical floral designs...and the beautiful tablecloths and doiles and embroidered dish towels and pillowcases and sheets...I love just about everything from the Art Deco period...I love clocks too...especially from that time period...but as for cars...I like the ones from the 1920's ...wow...what class and style.
And another thing that I find at garage sales are old cookbooks...I love old cookbooks...and the older the better. And I like church group cook books too...like potluck dinner recipes...great!
Out of one of my church cookbooks I found a recipe for stuffed peppers that uses those long light green hot peppers...and you serve them with sour cream on top...one of my favorite recipes.

I do not have them and I do not go to same. I get all my things together and give it to goodwill or the salvation army. I know lots of folks do and enjoy them, but it is just not my thing. Maybe when I have more time.

When my wife is running errands she calls me on my cell and tells me the address and times of any she passes. She knows what I like. Oh, yeah, baby!

I LOVE Garage Sales, Thrift Stores, and especially Swap Meets. Why buy new, when you can buy used. Its the hunt that makes it FUN.

I don't have a garage, but do have a barn. I prefer charity resale stores. I call it recycling. I take thing to give and come back with things I think I need. I used to give my kids five dollars and say buy anything you want.

When we had a car and we were still married, we would stop by garage sales. Last wife really liked garage sales. I have checked out local garage sales in my neighborhood, and I bought a few items from a neighbor, like a radio/cassette player/8 track player combo, a storage unit, and tools.
