...makes me wonder if Tiger Woods dissapointed the elite members of the media today--by not being 'seriously injured'. It is almost like they are saying--"Well geeze, why ain't u a cripple after u hit a fire hydrant? give us something to really write about here, Man!!

ORLANDO, Fla. - Tiger Woods was injured when his car struck a tree near his mansion in a gated waterfront community early Friday, authorities said.

A statement on Woods' official web site said the golfer had been treated at a nearby hospital and released in good condition.

People close to Woods are also saying the golfer is OK after initial reports that he had suffered "serious" injuries.

Woods' instructor, Hank Haney, who is traveling in China, sent a text to Golfweek on Friday, saying, "I hear he's OK." Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg, told CNBC in an e-mail that the golfer is "fine."

The Florida Highway Patrol initially reported his injuries as serious — a term troopers use to describe any injury that requires more than minor medical attention — and said that he was taken to Health Central Hospital.

The patrol said Woods, 33, hit the hydrant and a tree after pulling out of his driveway in his 2009 Cadillac sports utility vehicle.

The Orlando Sentinel reported that the airbags in Woods' Cadillac Escalade did not deploy, meaning the vehicle was moving at a speed under 33 mph.

The patrol report said alcohol was not involved, though the accident remains under investigation. No one else was in the car, patrol spokeswoman Kim Montes said.

Woods' $2.4 million home is part of the exclusive Isleworth subdivision near Orlando, a community set on an Arnold Palmer-designed golf course and a chain of small lakes. The neighborhood, which is fortified with high brick walls and has its own security force, is home to CEOs and other sports stars such as the NBA's Shaquille O'Neal.

The accident happened at 2:25 a.m., though the FHP did not release the accident report until nearly 12 hours later.

Gary Bruhn, mayor of the adjacent community of Windermere, said police from that village were among the first on the accident scene and saw Woods with cuts on his face.

Woods, who has won 82 times around the world and 14 majors, attended the Stanford-Cal football game, where he tossed the coin at the start of the game and was inducted into Stanford's sports Hall of Fame at halftime.

He had traveled to China and Australia earlier in the month, winning the Australian Masters on Nov. 15.

Woods was to host his tournament, the Chevron World Challenge, on Monday at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, California.

He won six times this year after missing eight months recovering from reconstructive surgery on his left knee. Even though he failed to win a major, Woods said he considered this a successful year because he did not know how his knee would respond.

(U will note--since the media didn't have anything to write about here--they just decided to write about everybody in the neighborhood.)

The first problem is Fox and elite.
I just saw the news on the net.
They said his wife was chasing him with a golf club?
They also said his wife was mad at him for having girl-friends?
That is what National Enquirer is reporting--along with he had an affair when he was in Austrillia. Tiger's wife (Elin Nordegren, a former model who was born in Sweden---now really--who would cheat on something like that???) did come after Woods with a golf club---but the golf club was used for the purpose of breaking the back window of his cadillac AFTER the accdent--because the car doors were locked, and she didn't want to risk hitting him directly. The 911 tapes will be played for the public on Tuesday.

The media is still trying to get a story out of this. In fact--one member of the media press even went so far as to call Elin's parents--who are still living in Sweden-), just to ask them if they know of any problems within the Woods' marraige. Now folks--with probing like that--is it any wonder that famous people can stay together? I am hoping this will all blow over as being nothing more then a tyhpical couple's spat---and not the grandeur the media mafia are looking for.
She must have been using a one Iron, cause you know even God can't hit a one iron.
This was the reason that I kept using questions marks after a quote.

Ask yourself--has TMZ been consider a reliable news source--or have they been known to embelish a bit?? I am not going to believe any stories until Jon Stewart says it is true!
HAH,

I don’t know anything about TMZ.
I just stumbled on it this AM.
Tiger gets mad if anyone writes about him.
I guess we can call this gossip?
Sorry Tiger.
but the golf club was used for the purpose of breaking the back window of his cadillac AFTER the accdent--

Guess all those golf lessons that Tiger gave his wife didn't pay off because the only way that she swung that club at the back was if Tiger was hiding behind the second seat (which might explain why he hit the hydrant in the first place).

Think about this for a second. Allegedly, he backed into the hydrant. First, how fast could he possibly have been going. Second, how could he do enough damage to the car that he would have been prevented from exiting the front of the vehicle when he hit the hydrant with the back?

now really--who would cheat on something like that???)

Well, to paraphrase Ron White, you can't fix crazy. (I would think that if Tiger was, indeed, stepping out, his wife could do him a lot more damage in a court of law than with a pitching wedge)
I've got bigger things to worry or speculate about....good grief.
I would not honor this news item with a single thought.
A famous golfer is in a car accident. He refuses to chat about it to the News, but he lived.
"Is he OK?" "Can he still golf???"

I hope so. Let me know.
Otherwise, send me to my vineyard where I can tend to the fruits of my labor.
Or do laundry.
He lives in a gated community? He must be a so much better person than me!
I guess the media was right---there was a story in this--and the media folks got it!!
